The food and service at DeSocio’s deli is excellent. It is a family-run business and has been in existence for 109 years. The mayor recently named a street after them. The catering is also phenomenal.

Maybe it was an off day but I was not the biggest fan of their fried chicken sandwich. The breaded chicken was chicken tenders and they looked frozen. Maybe they ran out of chicken cutlets but Thats sacreligious around here. The eggplant looked average and there wasn’t much hot food out. I will say the bread was good. Looked a local favorite.

Love this place. Closest I’ve come yet to getting a good old South Philly style hoagie on EITHER side of the Hudson River. If I had known they were there, I’d have moved closer.
Go there for the business of getting a delicious sandwich, don’t go for the decor. It’s clean, not decorated; although I do actually like the South Philly, 1973 vibe. Feels like home.
