The food was so delicious! We got 3 different dishes, and each was uniquely crafted, with its own flavor, spiced to custom order. The garlic naan was so crispy, perfection. The owner and chef is very accommodating. He told us how he makes his recipes from scratch – and yes, we could see his passion for his craft. I had chicken tikka tandoor which was juicy and flavorful. My husband had lamb vindaloo that was tender and came with 2 unique chutney sauces. Apparently those are also made from scratch, and it was unbelievable. We also shared chicken 65, an appetizer packed with a little crisp and a lot of savory taste. It was so much food, we wanted to finish, but probably would’ve died trying. The owner gave us several dishes to pack our leftovers, and threw in chutney for us as well. I will be going back to try every dish on the menu. Seriously.

Decided to give this place since I saw so many good reviews and was not disappointed! The food was delicious, service was great, nice atmosphere. The owner was really nice and came and checked out on us personally. I love indian food, and as a vegetarian person they typically have quite a few options- but this place even has vegan options and just a lot of options for vegetarians/vegan food, and I am very appreciative of that!!
I got the Molai Kofta and my fiance got the Goat Vindaloo for our entrees (came with rice, just didn’t get a picture) I got a mild, because even though I love indian food I don’t handle spicy food well and it was perfect. My fiance loved his food and he got in in medium, towards the end I can see it he was dying a little but he said it was still very good. We got a basket of Garlic Naan and an appetizer of the Somaso Chaat. Both were really good. (Idk why there was a complaint about naan being so thin- this is not like how Americans make Naan. It is supposed to be thin)
Definitely worth the trip if yoy aren’t close by! And if you are..you’ll have a new favorite place to go to! ❤️ I love that we have a new option in NPR!

This is one of the best new businesses Port Richey has seen in a long time. We always lacked Indian food options in this area and now we have the best around. Really friendly and helpful staff and the chicken jhalfrezi I got was so tender and flavorful. They have the best garlic naan ive ever had. The menu is so large and the prices are very reasonable, especially with the large portion size. I also appreciate the owner telling me the vegetables are fresh cut, not frozen. This greatly enhanced the experience for me, I love when the veggies are given the care like this.
With them being open as late as midnight & with the delivery app option available too, I am going to be eating from here for a good long while to come. Welcome to the Pasco restaurant hall of fame, Desi! May your business be blessed and thrive to the fullest!

Three cheers for the new Indian restaurant in Port Richey!
“New” because we visited on Nov 30, 2025 and think it’s only been open about a month.
Food (disclosure: I don’t like most meat):
• Favorite dish: Malai kofta (vegetarian dumplings). All four of us enjoyed this dish. The sauce was so scrumptious I felt bad about not finishing it. I chose this since my Indian restaurant back home doesn’t offer it and it sounded interesting.
• Next favorite: Baingan bharta (eggplant). Half of us liked this dish (as did the person who we brought the leftovers since we ordered too much food). But the other two have more basic, chicken/Diet Coke palates so I think it’s more about preferences than the dish itself. Nice and unique flavor
• Biryani was admittedly more beautiful than flavorful, but it was still good. The yogurt sauce helped hydrate the dish
• Chicken korma: Everyone seemed to like this dish (though I think thighs would have been more tender/juicy than breasts)
• Goat curry: Nice flavor, just a bit fatty for the person who ordered it. I tried it but seemed meaty to me
• Lamb vindaloo: Fine, per the person who ordered it. Meaty to me
• Naan basket (variety): all the bread types tasted pretty similar and on the thinner side
• Spice level: we ordered everything medium since we were with non-spicy people, but it didn’t seem that spicy so if you prefer that, consider hot or risk Indian hot
Service: Great. I wish some of the other patrons and pick ups had shown more patience and grace to the sole person working hard as a host, waiter, busser, etc and also working take out orders…I’d even wondered if he was the cook at one point. Right now (Nov 2025), they don’t have the personnel to have someone greet you when you walk in…but I also think someone called in sick.
Ambiance: Pleasant. It felt clean and didn’t have loud music or videos playing. There’s a TV but it wasn’t obnoxious.

Every dish was so delicious, the chicken soup, the vegetable samosa, lamb korma, pappdan and the garlic naan and fresh rice. This restaurant has some of the most tasty and authentic Indian cuisine in the area! I love how fragrant, fresh, and well seasoned the dishes are. All the food is cooked wonderfully and brought out in a timely manner. I enjoyed the samosas and butter chicken with rice. It was honestly the best butter chicken I have ever had (and I’m a butter chicken connoisseur). The atmosphere is very quiet, spacious, and lively. There are table and booth options, it’s very clean, and organized. The service is very good as well! Very attentive and helpful regarding the menu items and suggestions. I will be coming back to this restaurant!!

My husband and I came here today and had a great meal. We loved our experience here and enjoyed that the food is made with everyone in mind. There are lots of vegan options, and the curries + butter chickens are seasoned so that people like me with food sensitivities can steal eat here. I am also allergic to cilantro, and he was able to remove it from the garlic naan so I could still eat it. The owner was great, and the service was awesome. We will be coming back again for sure.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! I was so happy to see Indian cuisine come to our area and had to give it a try. They didn’t disappoint. The buttered chicken was divine as well as the naan and goat chettinad. The best goat I honestly ever had and I’ve had plenty in my lifetime. The owner was sweet and attentive. I have every hope that this restaurant will thrive and continue to provide authentic cuisine people like myself and family enjoy. BRAVO

The food at Desi Taste Indian Cuisine was wonderful and fresh. Every dish was full of flavor and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The spices were perfectly balanced, and everything tasted authentic. The restaurant was very clean, great service and the decor was nice and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell a lot of pride goes into both the food and the space. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone who loves great Indian food.

Absolutely delicious authentic North Indian food! We tried Desi Taste recently and were blown away by the flavors – the butter chicken was creamy and perfectly spiced, the mataar paneer was rich and comforting, and the garlic naan was fresh out of the tandoor, soft and buttery. The crispy corn was perfect too!
The restaurant is brand new, super clean, and has a warm, inviting atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything felt fresh and homemade. Great portions for the price, and they have plenty of vegetarian/gluten-free options.
Highly recommend if you’re craving real desi tastes in Port Richey – this spot is a gem! We’ll definitely be back soon.
