More of a 3.5.

If u ever feel nostalgic about eating something savory and yummy street food, such a good place to visit. Dhokla is really fresh, still not as soft nd juicy as I expected, but best u can find around. Ordered raj kachori, not so authentic, also chutney used in it has lots if added color to make it visually appalling.

Very well and cleanly maintained restaurant, good space and lots of options to choose from.

Experience was not as much good as we were expecting because we wanted to eat Indian food but the taste of food was very very normal like everything was very sweet, papri chat, pani puri , mango lassi they were sweet like juice. We ordered Masala Dhosa and it was good but except that everything was very very sweet and taste was very normal, although there customer service is good, the lady who was there she was very sweet and friendly But experience was very normal Smosa’s taste was also very normal.

It was the second time I had my chat with them as my frnds who stayed nearby always have food from here.. Very good taste and feeling so happy to have a very good desi street food style love their Mirchi bhajji, Vada Pav , Dhahi Poori. Giving 4 star coz they missed to keep sweet chutney in pani poori Forgot to take pics of the chaat as I was busy completing them before my hubby or frnds

Honestly, this is one best places in terms of taste for Indian street food in Richmond. Service is quick depending on the rush, and the place is quiet clean.
When I ordered my mix vegetables pakoda I was expecting typical individually fried veggies, but here they chop then mix all the veggies and the end result is delicious. Dosa was not as crispy as I like but the amazing Sambhar and Chutneys made up for it.
Overall a really good place.

As always, my eleven years old son and I are always welling to try new things. I have saved Desi Street Food as a place to try when I was surfing for a place to eat a few weeks ago. I think this time I have put myself out of my comfort zone. Should have read the descriptions of the dishes online before I went there, that was my first mistake. Walked up to the counter and had no clue what chaat, Dabeli, Dhokla…are. (Now I know how people feel when they come to a Chinese restaurant with everything printed in Chinese. Have more respect for people who are brave enough to go out of their comfort zone and try new cuisine.) Thank goodness there were photos everywhere to help us visualize what we were ordering. The second mistake that I made was not research and learn more about the restaurant before we went there. When the nice yong lady asked what we would like to order, first thing came out of my mouth was “some kind of meat dish”… boy I totally embarrassed myself, Desi Street Food is a Vegetarian restaurant with Vegan options.
All and all, we loved the Kathi Roll with Paneer (cheese vegetables wrap), it had a lot of flavor and just right amount of heat. If you cannot eat spicy food, do not order Mirchi Bhaji (deep fried battered green chili). It was very good but was also very spicy. For my son and I who are used to spicy food, the chili gave us a good burn in our mouth. We also enjoyed mango lassi while we waited for our food. The Samosas $3+ for two came straight out of the kitchen, we added to our order. They were big and tasty. I am not a good person to judge if the restaurant is authentic or not, but for someone who loves food, they provided a good variety of veggie options with good flavor. That is good enough to earn a five stars from my son and I.

This is the worst ‘Gobi Manchurian’ that anyone can come across. Today we came to your place and shocked. We love your chat menu and come at least twice a week since few years. All your chef did was heat the chicken size frozen gobi and decorate with spring onion. Please don’t add item to the menu for the name sake and ruin your restaurant credibility. Just delete the menu item.

Lot of North Indian street food variety…
Dhokla is especially the best at this place, being fresh and tasty. However, other Chaat and Gol gappe not as per my expectations belonging to north India and knowing the real taste. Scope of better quality with fresh chatni and not lot of processed stuff.
