Desi Licious, Indian Restaurant in Farmington Hills is a hidden gem worth trying. It offers a wide variety of authentic dishes. Their buffet lunch spread is good but leave a lot to desire. I tried the Saturday buffet lunch in a get-together of four. The Achari Chicken stood out with its flavor and spices. The Mixed Veg Curry was delicious and satisfying. The Dal was prepared well, a nice addition to the buffet. The Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani was average. The Butter Chicken was okay, but not exceptional. The Aloo Gobi was just okay, not a bad dish.
The ambience and atmosphere were cozy and we were the only other group having lunch at the place. I would expect more customers to be there on a Saturday but given that the Hindu Navratri events are ongoing at various places around the town, could be reason for low footfalls. The staff is friendly and attentive and there is a free parking lot.
Overall it was a great value for Indian food lovers at the price of $18.99 per person for the weekend buffet. I would rate it 3.5.

The flavors are rich and bold, and the portions are generous, making it a great value for the price. The service is friendly and attentive, with a warm welcome that makes you feel right at home. I particularly enjoyed the butter chicken and the naan bread, which were both flavorful and expertly prepared. The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy and intimate, making it a great spot for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner. Overall, Desi Licious is a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian food or is looking to try something new!

Wow !! What a great Mandi experience, did not expect to have such a flavorful experience. We ordered the chicken and lamb Mandi for 2 and we were in for a feast 🙂 the rice has a lot of flavor, both the chicken and lamb were quite juicy. The service was quite prompt Will come back for sure

We went with family for Saturday lunch buffet. Their spread was limited, but the food was great! Very unique and native to Andhra cuisine. Loved their Tandoori chicken, Chicken Kari veppudu, chicken biriyani, rasam, veg masala, which were all authentic, fresh and very tasty. Those who like spicy food will love this place. Great hosts. Were very warm in receiving.

Absolutely ridiculous how good it was, with massive portions we weren’t prepared for, ordering so many things. The biggest tragedy is us not living closer or it would be our go-to desi place. Like, the naan alone was the best either of us had ever had, so fluffy yet crispy, and you get so much of it. I had the konaseema goat biryani, et mon dieu. C’était tellement fantastique. The meat was so tender, and the rice immensely punchy with taste. The spice of everything matched beautifully with flavor, especially with the gobi that also remained so crispy. Not to mention, the owners were so polite and attentive. A diamond in the rough that is the West Bloomfield area that is so afraid of flavor.

The chicken mandi was good in terms of flavor, but the variety of chicken served was very limited. It also felt like the chicken pieces were leftovers from the buffet, especially since we visited on a Sunday night. Spending $39 on this dish didn’t feel worth it to me. On top of that, serving a fish fry alongside the mandi was a poor choice and didn’t complement the meal.

I’m often on the search to find new & refreshing takes on Indian food as it’s one of my favorites. Desi Ruchulu serves up Indo-Chinese offerings that generally both hit the spicer spectrum. Overall my wife and I enjoyed the mixture of spices. Being both Thai & S.Korean our taste palet favors heat.
What I surprised me was the small portion size and lack of rice with the dishes. This seems rather standard for most Indian restaurants, but not here. Perhaps the size of the to-go box and seeing it filled to almost half jaded my opinion.
Service was slower, yet rather courteous. The atmosphere seemed mid/tier and clean.
An unrelated perk is that the parking lot has 2 free electric car charging stations.

Visited for lunch buffet. Most of the items are not fresh. Sweet (Kesari) is not at all good. Even the starters are bad. Overall, food taste has to improve and wont visit again for buffet.

We came here on the 2nd day after they opened, and I have to say we really liked this place! Our group had 9 people in it, and everyone thought the food was delicious and high quality. We had some vegetarian and meat appetizers, as well as as vegetarian and meat mains. Also some desserts.
Everything I tried was delicious, but the standouts were Gobi Manchurian, Paneer Majestic, Chicken 65, and Hyderobadi Biryani. The Garlic Naan here was delicious as well. For desserts, the Double Ka, and Gulab Jamoon were really strong.
Service was great – our server was super attentive and friendly. Decor was clean and modern. I have to say this place is a cut above most other Indian restaurants in the area – keep up the good work! We will definitely be back!
