A special mention to Mr. Moni Thomas and Subin, who were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Their warmth and hospitality made the experience even more special — they filled both our hearts and our tummies!
This family-run restaurant is a must-try for anyone craving genuine Kerala food. It has definitely become our go-to spot — a place we’ll be visiting again and again!!!
One last comment.. food is good, though not a friendly servics.
We noticed the door to the kitchen propped open as we walked past the front of the restaurant to the entrance. When we arrived on that Saturday evening the place was deserted. The dining area lighting was turned off except for the rear of the room and a gentleman sat reading the paper by the dim light. There was some activity in the kitchen area and a man came to the counter located near the front of the establishment. Two medium-sized dry erase boards, leaning on a portion of the counter, held scribbles representing the menu with prices.
This unpretentious Indian eatery. ts small staff is knowledgeable and agreeable, but can serve only a few tables efficiently, so it’s best visited when not over-challenged by a crowd of patrons. And of course Indian cuisine isn’t fast food, so you may need to be patient. But your wait will be rewarded with well prepared, ample sized portions of subtly seasoned dishes, all at (by Houston standards) a modest price. The decor and ambience may not be as grand as some establishments but the quality of food it serves is hard to beat anywhere.
Conveniently located near to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, an amazing Hindu temple j3,000 pieces of hand-carved Italian marble and Turkish limestone just down the street that provides access and free tours, this restaurant’s service is friendly and the food tasty.
There are no alcoholic beverages available at this establishment. However, the modest prices make this casual eatery the type that everyone wishes they had in their neighborhood.
Large portions at reasonable prices and fast takeout makes this restaurant a dependable spot to satisfy Indian hankerings. The flavorful dishes do not disappoint.
The standouts here are the crispy dosas, rasam, and thali. For me the name of the game at this restaurant is the halal mutton biryani. Sit back and and revel in the super-inexpensive prices. This reliable go-to spot offers friendly service, a clean environment and a well-prepared set of North Indian favorites.
Made my day!!
Adipoli chai, appam and more!
