I am consistently searching for authentic and delicious Indian food (northern and southern) in North Texas. Now, if I lived in NYC, London, or literally anywhere in India, my search would have ended years ago. However, despite the populous cities of Dallas and Fort Worth and everywhere in between, my search was on-going until I discovered Desi Chulha. Located in a generic strip mall, the restaurant from the outside looks like nothing special. But, inside is a totally different story. Desi Chulha offers some of the most delicious and authentic Indian food I have sampled outside of NY and London. If you have been disappointed by the food offered by seemingly upscale Indian eateries in and around DFW, look no further than Desi Chulha. I promise that you will, like me, become a regular customer who looks forward to another wondrous meal at this outstanding eatery.

Pakoda was over-fried. And the chicken biryani did not taste good. Biryani looked like rice dipped in chciken curry.

So glad I stopped in today as I was driving by from my mom’s house in Bedford, TX. I love good Indian food and this place has it. Small intimate place with big rich flavor…I asked the owner (Mr Sing) what he recommended for a late lunch (they open from 11am – 2:30pm for lunch and open again at 4pm – 9:30pm or 10pm on weekends) and his recommendation of chicken Tikka masala with garlic Naan was on point. The Tikka Masala was spicy and tender and the garlic Naan was the best I’ve eaten. My new go to for Indian cuisine when I’m in Bedford. Priced right especially for the quality of food and portions too. Enjoy.

I spotted this place while driving on 121 and thought of giving it a try. We went there for dinner today and were pleasantly surprised. The place is very clean, inviting and spacious with table linens. They also have hand sanitizer on every table and they keep the water pitcher covered. Yes small things matter.
We ordered chicken vindaloo, chicken 65, chicken karahi, dal tarka, masala chai, iced chai, mango lassi, mulligatawny soup, bullet naan, garlic naan and keema naan. Every dish was delicious and well cooked with the right amount of flavor. We did ask for our food to be extra spicy.
They have been opened for about 3 months and we noticed steady flow of customers.
If you are looking for a low key homely environment with yummy reasonably priced food then this is a must visit.
Montu, is super nice.

Very happy with the flavor of the mulligatawny soup and the Peshawari Naan in particular. The mango lassi was good, though honestly too much for me in one sitting. I really loved that everything was labeled since we often have to open every container just to see what’s inside at other places. I’m hoping to go back soon to work my way through their dessert menu since the gajar ka halwa was so enjoyable! My husband loved his butter chicken masala and garlic naan – he wouldn’t even let me touch the leftovers!

The place felt authentic along with the taste of the food. We ordered several dishes and mango lassi. The owner was great, personally came out to ask if we needed anything. The presentation of the food as well as the dishes they came in were cute. Would definitely recommend. Prices were fair and the the food tasted amazing. Will be back to try more things on the menu!

An authentic little restaurant in Bedford. The staff were attentive.

The chicken pakora. Indian spiced fried chicken. I do think they went light on spices because my kid can’t handle spice very well.

!Keema Samosa. Very flavorful savory lamb stuffed pastry. The sauces the come with help but I think it’s better without.

!!Mulligatawny lentil. What a soup I wish there was more of. It was a lentil and vegetable soup that almost tasted curry like.

Chicken Karahi. The veggies with Indian spices make a supreme dish you won’t regret. It comes with basmati rice.

The mango lassi. Thick! It had good mango flavored yogurt smoothie. 🙂

Fyi. Naan isn’t free.

Finally, my search for a good Indian restaurant is over. The food was truly amazing. Everything had the right amount of spices and it was so flavorful. This place has authentic Indian food that you will find in India. It reminds me of my childhood back home. The owner was also very nice and accommodating, he personally came and made sure everything was to our liking.

I found Desi Chulha through google suggestions and was pleasantly surprised. I love Indian cuisine. We have been using another establish in the HEB area of DFW metroplex and have tried others as well but none have really stood out until last night. I use Grub Hub occasionally and was on there last night trying to figure out dinner while running a couple errands. The reviews online for Desi are good so I have it a shot. I placed my pickup order through Grub Hub app. I was already out and about so figured I would go pick up the order instead of paying for delivery and service fees. Desi has an extensive menu with lots of great offerings; any traditional Indian dish you can think of, they specialize in. The portions from what I can tell are generous and well prepared. Everything tasted great. The lads who run the establishment are very personable and cheery. Desi is a newer eatery on the HEB area however seem to fit right in and bring their A game. Two people ate for $45 and even then it could have been less had I not ordered for favorite dessert and extra sauce that I love :P. Their prices are very reasonable and portion sizes are adequate. We have leftovers to eat on for a couple of days. They are also on Grub Hub and DoorDash. I’m not sure of other food runner services however the restaurant themselves also offer delivery. The establishment was simple and clean. We were satisfied with the outcome and will definitely be back.

Spectacular buffet at an amazing price. My husband and I would drive to Irving or Arlington to get great Indian food. No longer do we have to drive far. They cook the rice and chickpeas perfectly, unlike other Indian restaurants.
