The restaurant is located in a good area in Allen. The ambience and indoor seating are very good, and the service is also good.

Coming to the food, we ordered samosas first. They were very crunchy, but the taste was good.

Next, we ordered mushroom masala with chapathi. The dish tasted good; however, the chapathis were too small, so we had to order extra chapathis.

We then ordered paneer biryani, Vijayawada chicken biryani, and chicken dum biryani. The paneer biryani and Vijayawada chicken biryani were good. However, the chicken dum biryani had very raw flavors with too much cinnamon overpowering the taste.

I do not recommend the chicken dum biryani here

Desi Chicas run good promotions that make it much more affordable than other dining options in the area.
One of the best deals they have is the 1+1 offer on snacks, which is perfect if you’re traveling with a group or just want to try a few different things. We also tried the curry and it comes with rice and naan included, so you don’t have to worry about ordering extra sides to stay full.
The flavors are authentic enough to satisfy a craving for Indian cuisine, and the portions are generous.

We had an amazing experience. Everything tasted so delicious . We tried the Italian Naan, which was so unique and perfectly baked. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The Jalapeño Chicken was creamy and delicious .

The Tangdi Kebab was juicy and well-marinated. Both biryanis were amazing — the Chicken Dum Biryani was aromatic and flavorful, and the Mutton Dum Biryani was outstanding! The mutton was incredibly soft, tender, and cooked to perfection.

We also loved the Chicken Tikka Frankie, which was packed with flavor and great as a quick bite. For dessert, the Pistachio Kulfi and Malai Cream Kulfi were the perfect sweet ending — rich, creamy, and refreshing.

Great ambiance, good service, and authentic flavors. Definitely a spot we’ll keep coming back to!

***More hype than taste, honestly.***

We ordered a mix of veg and non-veg dishes:

Veg:
• Mushroom masala
• Paneer biryani

Non-veg:
• Vijayawada chicken biryani
• Dum biryani
• Jungle kebabs

The kebabs were highly recommended by friends, but unfortunately they were undercooked for us, which was disappointing.

The biryanis were a complete letdown — neither the dum, Vijayawada, nor paneer biryani lived up to expectations. None of them had the authentic flavor or texture.

Service was okay, but the timing was off. We were told the kebabs would take 30 minutes, yet the biryanis arrived after that, which didn’t make much sense.

The only standout dish was the mushroom masala with chapatis — it was genuinely delicious and the best part of the meal.

Paan:
$3.78 for a paan felt overpriced. It tasted good, but definitely not worth $4. Try it only if you’re really craving one.

Overall: Too much hype, very few hits. Mushroom masala saved the experience.

Today’s lunch was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. We ordered mutton dum biryani, haleem, and butter naan.
Before I get into the details, let me mention that the restaurant was almost empty—only a couple of tables were occupied. You can see this in the screenshot.

What Happened

We placed our order at 1:57 PM.
Until 2:20 PM, no food was served.
When I asked a staff member, she said she would check and told us the food would arrive in “two minutes.”

After a long wait, the haleem finally arrived. My wife tasted one spoon and it was very cold. Imagine waiting 30 minutes only to receive cold haleem.
We immediately took it to the counter and explained the issue.
A junior employee tried to handle it but couldn’t answer our questions, so she called a senior lady. That’s when the experience became even worse.

Food was served extremely late.

Cold food was served after a long wait.

The senior staff member responded with arrogance instead of proper service.

This senior lady didn’t even apologize properly. Instead, she simply said, “We will refund the money,” as if that solves everything.
No responsibility, no respect. If you are representing Desi Chichas, you should care about customer experience. You cannot shout at customers—
we are paying for the food and expect basic courtesy.
She also claimed she “didn’t know the food was cold.” Then she said the “minimum wait time is 20 minutes,” which makes no sense when the restaurant is almost empty. When I pointed this out, she said they were busy with to‑go orders. So does that mean dine‑in customers don’t matter?

Another customer even approached us and said she faced the same issue—cold food and long delays—but didn’t speak up until she saw us questioning the staff.

It feels like this restaurant survives mostly on hype. Maybe they serve good food on weekends, but on weekdays it seems like they don’t care about quality or customer experience at all.

Except for the arrogant senior lady, the rest of the front staff were polite and apologized for the delay and the cold haleem. But if this restaurant continues to keep such rude staff in charge, the business will definitely suffer.
Serving cold food after a long wait and responding with arrogance is unacceptable. Customers deserve better.

Despite the eternally long wait for our plates, the curries and Biryani tasted great. The place was busy, and they ran out of several dishes—which was only disclosed after we had placed the order and sat for twenty minutes waiting for our plates. After agreeing on different curries, we sat and waited as one plate arrived every 18 minutes. So, my party ate each other’s food while waiting for the other plates to arrive. The food is great, and the ladies who take the order and serve are polite and charming. I will return, and I will order ahead of time to make sure the dishes are served at the same time.

I have mixed feelings about today’s experience with the BOGO biryani from Desi Chichas. My previous dine-in experience felt fresh and enjoyable, so I had similar expectations for the takeaway. Unfortunately, the takeaway order on 11/26 didn’t meet that standard.

The presentation was good, but the quality of the biryani was incredibly bad. The top layer of rice seemed fresh, but the bottom layer felt like it came from an older batch – possibly from the previous day. The chicken pieces tasted frozen(sluggish chewy experience), and the excessive oil gave the impression of reheating. The rice portion was very minimal compared to the amount of chicken, and the mix of fresh white rice on top seemed like an attempt to make the dish appear freshly prepared.

What saved the experience from being worse was the raita and side gravy, which were both flavorful and well-prepared. Because of that, I would rate the overall experience a 3 out of 5.

BOGO offers are appreciated, but not when they compromise freshness or quality. I hope the restaurant maintains good standards for promotional orders?? as they do for regular dine-in meals. Fresh food shouldn’t be a rare experience!!!

Absolutely loved this place!
Tried it for the first time today and went in for breakfast around 9 AM — had no idea they offered an unlimited breakfast buffet! What a pleasant surprise! They had a great spread with idly, dosa, pongal, Mysore bonda, and more. You can even choose different kinds of dosa and idly, which was awesome. Every item tasted fresh and authentic, and the service was super fast and friendly. Definitely coming back again soon — perfect spot for a delicious South Indian breakfast!

Heard so much about this place so wanted to try it out. Heard that the tea was the best in town. Firstly, I was disappointed at the customer service. I had ordered 2 samosas to stay, where they had 5 in the tray. After I paid, another customer ordered 5 samosas to go. The lady at the counter immediately turns to me and says ” Sorry you have to wait 40 min for the samosas” and she packed the 5 samosas for the other customer. I was surprised at this and just changed my order to other stuff.
I had ordered, egg puffs, gulu gulu (indian hush puppies), Jalapeño pakora and tea. Although the tea was satisfactory the rest were not. The egg puff was totally burnt at the bottom.
Very disappointed and definitely not going back here again. Would not recommend.

Oh my God, where do I start. My husband ordered 5 different curries from them last night. We spent over 100 dollars on the food. We placed the order like 2 hours ahead of time online, when I got there, I still had to wait about 30 minutes. I bought some snacks as well. The curries are extremely nasty. They all taste the same, lamb flavor is very strong and a ton of bones in everything. I cannot recommended a single dish I ordered to anyone. There was also hair in my snacks. Complete joke of a restaurant. I could have flushed that 100 dollars down the toilet instead, it would have made more sense than subjecting myself to these atrocities called “food” negative stars and rip off. You would be better off spending 100 dollars at McDonald’s.
