Absolutely love Desi Bites Café in Hicksville! This is truly a hidden gem. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. I’ve been here three times already, and everything I’ve tried has been excellent. The samosa chaat is perfectly spiced and full of flavor, the Punjabi burger is a must-try, and their veggie sandwich and noodles are very tasty. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. It’s a great casual spot whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout. Definitely a place worth coming back to again and again.

I had went there to try some classic Indian fast food and I wasn’t disappointed. Their Paneer and veggie burger was spicy (in a good way) and full with noodles and veggies. I had also tried their falooda ice cream which was rich in other stuff like Rabdi etc. The setting was nice as well. Will definitely be coming back for more Indian Street style food

I tried the Desi Chole Kulche ( forgot to take a photo) and the Gol Gappe. Food was very different but very good. Very clean establishment.

Very nice and clean atmosphere. Cashier was very friendly. The flavor of the food was ok. Unfortunately their is no restrooms for customers if you are dining in.

Great food. A relatively small menu with mostly snacks and small plates. They also have specials listed on the counter for bigger meals. We really enjoyed the spring rolls and Punjabi coffee. The paneer burger was okay, but very messy to eat and it had noodles in it? Strange combination. Will definitely be coming here again to try more food and have more coffee. Reasonable prices.

I’ve visited the place about 5 times till now and we tried different things every single time. First few times we tried the Pani Puri, Filled Gold Gappe and samosa chaat. Everything was really tasty and spice levels were good.
We also tried the falooda rabri. Absolutely loved it! Very delicious. A good option if you’re craving shakes.
Most recently, we got the Aloo, Gobi and Mooli parathas. They served it with some curd and pickles. The best part about parathas was the homemade-style of it. It reminded me of back home. They were hot, freshly made. The Gur Chai was slightly too sweet but was tasty still.
At the end, the service was good. The lady at the register has always been very kind and helpful. Would definitely recommend to other people. Happy with this so far.

DONT GO. I wish I could give zero stars. We came here first time.

1) We got a sandwich and we found food sticker inside the sandwich?! Attached is photos and we couldnt believe our eyes. And even after all this they gave us NO REFUND for sandwich WITH PLASTICSor wasn’t even fazed by it. Just disgusting service. Eating at a street on India would be cleaner maybe.

2)when ordering we asked which burger doesn’t have mayonnaise bc it has eggs and we don’t eat eggs. He then recommended us a sandwich and after my husband tried sandwich we asked if it has mayo, he said yes. So why did he recommend that to us?!

I am just shocked that the chef/cook maybe didn’t even wash the vegetables/hands bc if he didn’t remove the sticker and hot pressed it inside the sandwich, we literally ate melted plastic.

If you care about your body, don’t eat here. You have no idea what they are serving you.

Desi Bites: A Mixed Bag

Desi Bites Cafe offered a cozy atmosphere and diverse Indian-inspired menu. However, dishes varied in quality, and service felt somewhat inattentive. Prices were reasonable, but consistency issues held it back. Worth visiting for specific dishes, but not a standout overall.
