The menu impressed me with how many vegan options they had (love to see it!). The charred broccolini was delicious, and I tried the Funghi Carnitas pizza with red sauce, vegan cheese, and pickled onions — a combo I’d never had before, but it totally worked. Every bite was flavorful, balanced, and just the right amount of indulgent. This spot is the perfect mix of casual and elevated — chill enough for a low-key night out, but refined enough to feel special. I’d absolutely go back.
I am flaberghasted. This food is so good!
It’s like Home. It’s like who knew that simple Italian with love is still the best in the world…well, for sure in Italy and El Paso.
Honestly, I have not one complaint.
Pizza Oven is right there for entertainment, and Spaghettia Sauce is SO RIGHT!
Plus their portions are so divine!…Lol
Also, They make REAL BREAD, that you have to chew like our ancestors did for thousands of years before we came along with soggy dead white bread that killed our digestive system.
It’s like a little corner of Italy in El Paso. I’m a Poor Italian Child, so I know what I’m talkin here!
Oh, and they have Serrano Peppers like in the kitchen on hand if you’re like me that loves spicy hot!
Anyone who knows what Good Italian Food is won’t be disappointed at all. This isn’t cuisine…It’s Mom & Pop, One Stop Shop kinda thing.
Bottom line: raw doughy pizza with an uncooked cornicione (photos attached), poor excuse, service that collapsed when I gave feedback, and management that didn’t care. Be careful with this place—I would think twice before ever going back
We arrived with a reservation, but our reserved indoor table wasn’t available. We were offered an outdoor table, which was fine. The staff seemed friendly at first.
The appetizer summed up the whole meal: excellent fresh mozzarella paired with doughy, undercooked bread. I could literally roll a ball of dough from it, so I requested our pizzas be cooked well-done. Despite that, both the Margherita and mushroom pizzas came out the same way. The cornicione (outer rim) looked baked on the outside, but the inside was raw and sticky—you could roll it into a ball. I’ve uploaded photos as proof, including one of the dough ball I rolled from the pizza. This is not a small mistake; it’s a basic failure in oven temperature, timing, and technique.
When I gave honest feedback, the server brushed it off with, “We’re busy.” That’s an unacceptable excuse. I’ve been to many pizzerias during their busiest hours, and they never served raw pizza. After my comment, the server avoided us entirely, forcing us to flag down another server just to pay. Up to that point, I was ready to leave a 30%+ tip, but her attitude cost her that.
What made things worse: as we walked out, management was watching us. They clearly knew something was wrong yet chose not to address it. That tells me the issue isn’t just bad food—it’s a lack of care for customers.
This restaurant is not operating at a professional level. If you can’t cook pizza properly, you shouldn’t be in the pizza business. And with food like this, I don’t know how they’re holding a 4.7 rating—unless reviews are inflated or people simply don’t know what quality pizza is supposed to taste like.
The service was incredible, and Brooke (the owner) is truly the sweetest. She is so kind, attentive, and genuinely cares about her guests. Thank you, Brooke, for taking such great care of my friends and I tonight, it meant so much!
If you’re looking for delicious pizza, great drinks, and an all around good time, I 100% recommend Deserto Pizzeria. We will definitely be back!
I recommend the neo pesto pizza as well as the Fresh Caprese Di Burrata. These were amazing and hit the spot.
I also want to thank the owner, Brooke, for being so inviting and taking care my friends and I.
Definitely will have to come back.
The menu is on the smaller side and a bit pricey, and while the presentation was nice, the dishes were a little bland for my taste and could use more flavor. The drinks were good, but also on the higher end for the pour.
Sadly, based on this visit, it’s not a spot I see myself returning to, but I genuinely appreciate the great service and wish them nothing but success as they continue to grow.
