I have been to DeSanos a few times for lunch with coworkers, but was finally able to take the family. The service was great and the food was fresh and delicious. My wife is not a fan of charred crust, so I was cautiously optimistic that she would like Napoletana pizza. She loved it. The kids loved the food as well. Great looking restaurant and we love the different olive oil flavors and topping bar.

We love the Santo pizzeria. Picture below is the carnival with sausage. The crust was stuffed with fresh ricotta cheese. It was out of this world and I’ve had my share of good pizzas. I put that up with the turf club in Port Chester New York’s Pizza I gave it 10 out of 10. It’s definitely someplace you want to go to . we dine in we had 10 people, it was really busy. We’ve been going to this place as our regular pizza source for months, only to call it quits after a particularly insulting experience this Saturday.
Employees we spoke to on the phone about placing the order and picking up the order in-person were extremely annoyed about taking our order just before 9:00 pm. One particular worker insisted that we needed to reach the restaurant 5 minutes before it’d supposedly close at 9, even though it took them 10 minutes to make the pizza after 9. She also said they’ve always closed at 9:00, even though we’ve ordered after 9:00 several times before. Other sources online will still tell you this restaurant closes at 10:00 pm on Saturdays, too. Clearly, some poor management is going on to let this customer service happen.
We then were shocked to find oval-shaped, tiny and THIN pizzas with scarce and/or missing toppings for our order. I was appreciative enough that they took our order, so we left an 18% tip, only to get this. So yeah, I got the message. This place can count on me to never order from here again.

The pizza was delicious! Everything was fresh and the Margarita was awesome! 10/10 would recommend! Went back for a second/third and fourth time and this place is just great! The meatballs were fantastic homemade and fresh. The sausage on the pizza is unbelievable and the prosciutto pizza must try!

Uber eats had a BOGO on the 12″ pepperoni pizza so it was a great opportunity to try this one that has great ratings from others.
The pizza looks great (except really sloppy on the pepperoni spread, total lack of attention… not surprised), crust is crispy and thin and fresh, but it was soggy in the middle, which on a 12″pizza, is confounding (even after reheating in my ceramic pizza cooker). It also has not much taste to it, not quite paper but all i could taste was salt. I ate all the crust through 2 slices but by the 3rd slice, the extra empty calories and carbs were not worth it. The after taste was also really not good, that’s never happened before for NYC pizza.
Sauce and cheese are ok, but again main flavor is salt.
The pepperoni, main taste, you got it, even more salt.
The few basil leaves were good.
The second pie was about 30% less salty than the first. i am going to ASSUME that the first one someone made a huge mistake, or maybe they made a mistake on both, I dont know and dont care because this all just shows their QC and does not mitigate the zero taste crust and average sauce and cheese. Mistakes like this should not be made for this ridiculous price.
Unless i find out that their full sized pizza are somehow much better, unfortunately this is the last time i get their pizza. It’s like they know how to make the dough itself and cook the pizza but they don’t know how to flavor and top it. Not ideal when the first thing you want to do after eating is wipe the salt off your tongue. For $24.50 a 12″ pie (possibly lower directly in store), there is no way this is a good value. Any legit chef should know you never over season any dish with salt and pepper. If you really like salty foods, then this place might be great for you though.

Great pizza and great meatball appetizer. Service was slow to actually get served, except for water. The service once the order was put in was quick though. And the quality of the food was really good, just could use some more attentiveness from start to finish and that would’ve earned the 5th star. Might just do take out next time.
