If you’re looking for a solid Pakistani dining experience in Springfield, Des Pardes is a reliable staple that covers all the bases—from a quick lunch to a full-scale banquet. I recently stopped by for their buffet, and here’s how the experience shaped up.
The Buffet Experience
The first thing that struck me was the freshness. Often, buffet salads can feel like an afterthought, but here, the salad spread was crisp and vibrant.
One of the highlights of the buffet service is the bread. Instead of picking up a cold piece of bread from a tray, they bring fresh, hot tandoori naan directly to your table. It makes a world of difference when you’re scooping up curries.
What We Loved
The Variety: The spread was quite generous with a good mix of meat and vegetable dishes.
Freshness: You can tell the kitchen keeps a close eye on the rotation; nothing tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long.
A La Carte & Sweets: If you aren’t in the mood for the buffet, their a la carte menu is extensive. Plus, they double as a South Asian sweet meat shop, so the display cases are packed with colorful mithai.
Room for Improvement
While the meal was satisfying, there were two things I really missed:
The Nihari: We unfortunately missed out on the Nihari during this visit, which is usually a cornerstone of a great Pakistani breakfast or lunch.
The Dessert: While they have several options, I felt the dessert section could really use a traditional Rice Kheer to round out the meal.
The Little Extras
What sets Des Pardes apart is the “extras” you can find at the counter. Before heading out, you can grab a Meetha Paan or a Kulfi, which provides that perfect, authentic end to a heavy meal.
Whether you’re there for the restaurant, the banquet hall, or just to pick up a box of sweets, it’s a bustling spot that captures the essence of South Asian hospitality.
Final Verdict: A great spot for a fresh, varied meal. Just keep an eye on the timing if you have your heart set on the Nihari!

The food was absolutely delicious and full of authentic Pakistani flavors. Every dish was freshly prepared, well-spiced, and rich in taste without being overwhelming. The fish was aromatic, the chicken Jalfrezi was perfectly balanced and the naan was soft and fresh. Portions were generous and great value for money. If you’re looking for real Pakistani cuisine with traditional taste, this place is definitely worth visiting.

We love the buffet here. We went there twice before reviewing to confirm it is great. The food is fresh even when we go late at night. I can tell they care about how fresh the food is. Yummy food and dessert!! Try their mango lassi yum!

My husband and I ordered from the buffet on a Wednesday evening. Mon-Thurs it’s $13.99 per person, which is very affordable. Everything was very hot and fresh. My favorites were the goat korma and chana masala. The atmosphere was welcoming. The employees were courteous; they brought fresh, warm naan to our table and it was soft yet crispy with a delicious char. We drove here from Bowie, MD about 35 minutes away, and we’d gladly come back.

Very pathetic food. They had good quality of food 3 years ago
but now a days it is more than worst. They used can tomato in goat tawa karahi without onions and garlic. Please don’t waste your money here. It’s my honest suggestion.

I visited Des Perdes Restaurant in Springfield with high expectations based on its reputation, but unfortunately the food did not meet them. The flavors were underwhelming, and some dishes felt lacking in freshness and seasoning. While the atmosphere was decent and the staff was polite, the overall dining experience fell short compared to other restaurants offering similar cuisine. I was hoping for a more authentic and satisfying meal, but it did not quite deliver this time

I had not been to this restaurant in many years, since it was Abshaar. I recently stopped in for lunch on a weekday and noticed when I walked in that they offered a buffet. I actually prefer a buffet in a Pakistani joint, as it gives me the ability to try everything that they offer, as well as their cooking style.

This restaurant was nice and clean, and the staff was helpful and attentive. I said I wanted the buffet and the server instantly ordered me a naan. On this date the buffet offered the typical items, such as chicken tikka, daal, chana, etc… but it also had beef keema and chicken karahi too. The dessert was gulab jaaman, and they had plenty of chutney and other sauces/pickles to enjoy.

Overall, the food was nicely done and the price was just right. I’ll definitely return!

We ordered thru Uber eats and amazed to see the amount of food we got. We ordered naan, samosa, butter chicken and vegetable biryani. All of them are delicious, tasty, and mouth-watering. I do love the samosa dipping sauce, it’s superb. First time tried Pakistani food and amazed with it! For sure I will try to visit the restaurant one day if I visit Springfield again and maybe try the buffet.
