This shop has always been personal for us. My husband and I built our reputation one sandwich at a time, and we’re grateful for everyone who’s supported us. We’re reintroducing ourselves as D&E’s Corned Beef—a fresh name that reflects our family and our future—while staying true to what brought you here in the first place: generous portions, real Chicago flavor, and service that feels like home. Customers can expect the same location, the same team, and the same focus on quality—now under a name that reflects our ownership and long-term vision.

IMMACULATE SERVICE, WONDERFUL PROFESSIONALISM, ALL AROUND GOOD PEOPLE! The ladies there made me feel welcome and my patronage appreciated with their wonderful abilities. The food was excellent and my mother who definitely is a critic like myself couldn’t put her sandwich down. Will definitely be coming back again real soon.

If im spending $21.99 on a corned beef sandwich with swiss cheese, i expect it to have the cheese on it and with the bread intact. Very disappointed. Plain CB on rye was blah, Mac & Chz and G beans were good.

My family and I decided to check this joint out and we all loved it.

We got a corned beef Philly, turkey sandwich, and loaded potato with pot roast.

All of the food way exceeded our expectations. Even our boy that’s in that picky eater phase loved the turkey sandwich. The pot roast on the potato was amazing. That corned beef Philly made me wish I had a second stomach to order another one.

The people running this place were all friendly and I loved talking to them.

Great little comfort food spot, we will be back for sure.

Well, I saw this place on the internet and decided to try it since it was kinda near me, I went for lunch with the hubby and ordered 2 half pound corned beef sandwiches. PRO: all sandwiches come with pickle and chips, (the pickle was very thin), CONS: they only had marble rye bread (which I don’t like), the bread was thicker so that adds to the TOTAL SANDWICH WEIGHT (NOT THE MEAT WEIGHT), it was also kinda dry to my taste. The meat was shaved/crumbled and fatty! It was also served warm (which wasn’t a big deal, I just didn’t expect it), the menu offers leaner meat for a higher price charge, (why should I have to pay extra for lean meat on a sandwich?!) The quality of the ingredients were just ok nothing special. We also ordered fountain drinks which came in a small cup, for 2 half pound sandwiches and 2 small drinks my cost was $27 dollars and some change, THE employee was friendly and courteous, no complaints about the service, the tables were not wiped and had crumbs on them. NO THANK YOU! I WILL STICK TO MANNY’S! I think it’s just a personal preference thing for me, but if you know what to expect and that is your taste then it might be a place for you.

I ordered a cornbeef sandwich and it does look as advertised. I also ordered macaroni and cheese which looked like something that wasn’t edible. I would only advise anyone to order sandwiches . I can’t believe I paid $6 for this. New Alert: I took the “macaroni” back and the staff facial expression was priceless; he couldn’t believe someone gave that to me to consume. I tried the cornbeef sandwich today, ugh… it was so fatty!!!! Every bite was a fat chunk . I wouldn’t recommend this location.

Ordered half pound pastrami on rye with mustard. It was more than enough. Each sandwich come with pickle & chips. The combo comes with a drink & an extra side. The sandwich was excellent. Customer service was excellent. Food is made at order & was ready quickly.
1st time I ate here was via grubhub, I will definitely be back!!

New to the area and we were looking for something other than burgers and fries and we found a new favorite!!! The 1/2 lb pot roast sandwich and the 1/2 lb corned beef were amazing, tender and flavorful, everything pairs so well together from the soft marbled rye to the tangy mustard the creamy cheese and mayo and mouthwatering meats. We will definitely be back 🙂

Nicest employees. Everybody’s so cool and friendly. One of the best Reubens I’ve ever had. The side of green beans was delicious and fresh. The barbecued chips are good too.

Thanks for a great experience you guys. I’ll be back.

We went in Today for a sandwich. The cashier was so gracious and very patient with my guy who thinks he is a comedian. We all cracked jokes about the name change. We were given a sample of the mac and cheese. It was delicious give them a try. The new name is D & E. Same great corn beef.
