⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – A Pleasant Road‑Trip Stop
My husband, granddaughter, and I stopped at Depot Diner on our way from Marion, Illinois to Louisville, Kentucky, and it turned out to be a really pleasant surprise.
My husband ordered the pancakes, and they were *huge*—soft, flavorful, and cooked just right. My granddaughter enjoyed her French toast, which came as three thick slices along with a couple of sausage patties. She loved her meal.
I tried the fried catfish. It wasn’t quite to my taste, but to be fair, I’m hard to satisfy when it comes to catfish—my husband cooks some of the best you’ll ever eat, so my standards are high. Next time, I’ll probably try one of their burgers or something similar.
Overall, Depot Diner is a solid, friendly place to stop—especially on a stretch of road where good options are few and far between. Hands down, it was a good experience for all of us.

We found this cute little Diner on the way to holiday world. It seemed to be full of locals and had lots of breakfast options and great prices. The French toast was large Texas toast sized pieces and the food was great. The server was nice and kept our coffees full. I do wish they had shredded hashbrowns verses patties but besides that everything was fabulous. It was a nice little hidden gem to find, and right off the interstate.

This was the perfect breakfast stop for my family while traveling. The food was tasty, the portion sizes were great and the prices were very reasonable. We look forward to returning when we’re in the area again!

Definitely a cool spot to visit! Food was great! Service was a slight miss, though, unfortunately.. you’d think a place like this, the waitress would be friendly… ours was not so much. Still recommend a visit. ➡️Also, before leaving town, go north a few blocks to see a cool old gas & service station!!

The food was good and the amount you get you dont leave hungry. The waitress was very friendly and on top of taking our order and refills. Plenty of options and so much food for the price!! Definitely will go back, worth the short drive.

Cute, local establishment with great food and service. Nice train depot decor. In a small town it seems to have locals who come and all know each other. They welcomed this ‘city guy’ with a delicious, economical breakfast.

The food was very good and the facility is clean with very friendly service. There are specials as well as a range if regular menu items. It is worth a stop to get away from the chain fast food places. The town has an interesting history with the destruction from a 1925 tornado and the oil discoveries that led to 12m barrels per year back in the 50s. The local community frequents the spot for lunch. At the register you will find some amazing pies in a case that are hard to skip over. Also, tickets are not brought to the table so just go to the register when you’re ready to go.
