Depetrillo’s Pizza is a true New England classic and one of those places that just hits every time. Their calzones are outstanding with a perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft and cheesy on the inside and the party pizza is an absolute crowd favorite that never disappoints. It’s the kind of place you bring to family gatherings, game nights, or any time you need food that everyone is going to love. The flavors are nostalgic in the best way and it feels like a staple that’s been part of the community forever.
And those little dessert egg rolls are dangerously good. They’re warm, sweet, crispy, and honestly one of the most underrated things on the menu. Politics aside, I go there for the food and they consistently deliver quality, comfort, and value. It’s one of those local spots that earns its reputation by doing simple things really well and doing them consistently. If you’re in Rhode Island and haven’t had Depetrillo’s yet, you’re missing out.

This place is my go to for pizza and calzones. They are a cut above all else. Especially with what trash is out there. I was skeptical on the first time as the spinach pie canzone was someone weak on cheese. But if they continue to better themselves and it’s noticeable. So 5 stars.

Horrible overcooked pizza!!! Crust is hard as a rock and can break your teeth while eating it. Workers give attitude when you tell them about it. We bought over $40 worth of pizza and still got attitude!

I am writing this review publicly as there is no way to email ownership privately, which is usually intentional. We have been ordering pizza here over the years and the quality has continually deteriorated. We only order full size pan pizza. Lately, I have been asking for our pizza to be extra crispy because the dough has become mushy. Only once has my request been honored. Last night, same thing and looking at the dough my assessment was that the dough was old or “spent” and therefore would never cook up properly much less crispy…it was gummy. I am also food professional so I know the difference. I scraped off the .sauce and ran my nail through the dough, which had a putty-like consistency. This needs to be fixed!!!!!!! I have loved this place for years (bringing pizza for hosts when we are traveling and always buying it for our guests and parties) but quality and service has declined significantly under new ownership. Pizza is undercooked, and crust is uneven when it used to be perfect. I continued buying assuming maybe they were just off days, but it was brought to my attention they switched hands recently and this explains it all. I will say the bakery goods are delicious but I only bought them when picking up pizza and now I refuse to get their pizza (when I would order 3/4 times a month before). Not only has the food quality declined, but their customer service is just as bad. After four or five bad pizzas I finally called to complain and was met with defensiveness and poor customer service. After persisting, I received store credit ( but was rudely told to come quickly bc it won’t last long and not given an expiration date) and honestly never went back to get my free pizza bc it will also be mediocre. The nail in the coffin was their recent help wanted ad on Facebook that was downright unprofessional and even though the requirements they listed are necessary to do your job well, the tone and attitude made it very clear this person would not be fun to work with or for. Too bad, so sad. Went from my favorite pizza on the planet, to an establishment I refuse to support. Last thing I want to add is that the girls at the register have always been pleasant enough, but the issues seem to stem from management/owners.

Buyer beware they sell you day old as fresh. Bought a half tray of strips 2 spinach rolls and one stromboli roll. Also 3 day old rolls. Paid over $60 and not one item was fresh. Pizza strips were dry and dough was tough. Rolls were warm on the outside and cold on the inside. Not acceptable. Charging fresh price for day old is just wrong. This is why you are loosing customers.

Had two large pizzas from there last night. They were truly perfect! I could not believe now heavy they were when I picked up the boxes. Not skimping on anything here. Also, the young lady who waited on me was lovely. I will definitely be back. Thanks!

My friends and I got the cold pizza or party pizza box thing for an event and it was hit for local Rhode Islanders. However, I didn’t really fancy it, but could see the appeal. On the other hand, their Buffalo chicken calzone was very tasty. This place seems like a staple by what my friends tell me, so check it out for yourself.

Really love the calzones. The problem is, they are so inconsistent. One little piece of chicken in a chick/broccolli.Also, @ 12:30 in the afternoon, the bottoms shouldn’t be so hard that they aren’t edible. But last week around the same time, they were perfect, nice and soft bread with plenty of fillings. Sure hope.they can get a handle on what’s going on in the kitchen. Maybe a timer ? Maybe using some kinda measuring system for ingredients ? Or possibly employees that care. Hope my next visit is better. About to give up. Best of luck on your next visit.
