The waiter was good tho i had to ask for a refill from another. It might’ve been break time for him. He was young so… might’ve had other duties. He was trying to do his best.
Place was steadily busy but not packed out the door. Bathroom clean. Always a plus.
My fellow Veteran & I will return as we add this to our weekly restaurant circuit. It’s a bit out of our normal path but it was worth it.
We came here for breakfast on 1/4/2026 and our waitress Araceli was just like the restaurant, messy and full of attitude! She has never been friendly and I should have requested one of the younger ones. She is just rude, but with her friends in the table in back of us she was friendly and giving them hugs.
So we asked for wheat bread, she said they ran out, we asked for sourdough, and we get the same response. She told us we had to eat white bread and if we didn’t like it, to come back tommorow or later in the evening. Who says that to a customer? That should be grounds for a write-up! After 5 minutes she came back and said one of the waitresses just came back from the store because they had to go buy the wheat bread and creamer for the coffee. I don’t know if this was true, we were there before 10 am and I think you all would have been fully stocked with breakfast items.
I ordered Moons Over My Hammy and I asked for french fries as a substitue, she ended up charging me a-la carte price, which is around 4.59 or 4.89. I get my food and it was a small hand full of fries and the customer in back of us (her friend) got a big plate full of fries. We had to dispute the charge with the Manager, Manuel. I know at the other Denny’s on Horizon they don’t charge extra for a hasbrown substitute, which are the fries. I think the cooks need to be consistent. Don’t give one customer a good amount of fries and the next customer, a small amount.
Also when asking for a refill of coffee, she was in a hurry and she splashes it all over the table and on my mom’s blouse. Of course I ran out of tea and she never bothered to ask me for a refill. The food was also cold all around and the steak my dad ordered was tough.
It seems that the Horizon Denny’s is the only one that deserves a 5 -star rating because of Carlos. He always provides great service and isn’t rude with the customers. Carlos is very attentive and I think all waiters at Denny’s should go see how he works and he does work hard!
I don’t need the owner to respond, I just want the District Manager to be made aware of these issues with the store.
Thanks!
