I recently visited and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the food was delicious and the waitstaff provided truly amazing service; they were attentive and professional throughout our meal.
However, I feel compelled to mention an issue with a staff member named Jason. His behavior was unprofessional, as he spent the majority of the time sitting in a booth or standing by the front windows, effectively blocking the entrance. He appeared dismissive of both his colleagues and customers, ignoring requests to move and showing a general lack of engagement. It’s a shame, as the rest of the team works so hard, but his attitude significantly dampened the atmosphere.”

As a previous review has stated, the worker roaming around and bothering the guests is off-putting. He was walking around with a cup, spilling it on himself and floor as he walked. I appreciate the need for equal opportunity employment, but maybe keep him away from diners.
The pancakes tasted like 100% cake batter. We all agreed it was cake mix and not pancake mix.
The hash browns left a lot to be desired. Made with way too much oil instead of real butter.
The omelette was fresh, and just like the classic omelette Denny’s has always been known for.
The service was great! We tipped our server well, because he earned it.

The many times that I’ve been here, the food, service, and atmosphere have been wonderful, especially the service from Charles during the night-shift and Whitney during the day today.
But the moat recent time the atmosphere was weighed down by one big elephant in the room. One staff member, Jason. He complained about being asked to clean/clear tables, saying that he was “on break” since before I got there, and still was as I left (over an hour and a half, during the lunch rush). He would constantly stare at other customers and staff, making me feel genuinely creeped out. The only times he wasn’t staring at people, he was staring out the front glass door, or eating/drinking food in front of other customers.
I hope that in the future, the manager/owners of the restaurant reconsider having him on staff.

Had a really great time at Denny’s. Our server Layla was awesome, super nice and checked on us a lot. She made some really good shakes too, probably the best part of the meal. Everything tasted great and the service was on point. Would definitely come back!

Me and my boyfriend went to the Denny’s located on Grandview blvd in Waukesha Friday night the 28th. We sat down at the table and we were wait for 30 minutes before we got up and left. It was not terribly busy and the waitress was plainly ignoring us. We didn’t get drinks, acknowledged or anything before we left. There was a table who got there food while we were there, they ate and the waitress was clearing off there table and we still hadn’t been helped. I work in customer service and this is not it. If I could give no star I would. I’m so disappointed. I have never had a bad experience at Denny’s but this right here made me never want to go back.

Patricia took amazing care of us and was an absolute joy to be with. We immediately felt like we were family welcomed in after a long drive. Our food was brought to us fast and hot and the conversation was delightful. We will definitely be back to visit and will be sure to ask for Patricia to make our visit memorable once again.

My teenage son and I went for dinner on Christmas night (2025). I ordered a pancake grand slam meal and was later told they didn’t have any more of the particular topping for that style pancake. My hash browns were warm in middle but the texture felt as if they were under cooked. The two slices of bacon were thin, fatty and basically transparent. My son didn’t have any complaints about his meal. The server Brooklyn was very friendly and attentive. I added on a milk shake and slice of pumpkin pie as we left. The pie was sub-par. I’ve had better from the local grocery store.

Okay so i don’t usually write reviews, but after my visit to Denny’s, I felt morally obligated to let you know that Jason the cook is an absolute culinary legend. From the moment my food hit the table, I knew something special had happened in the kitchen. The eggs? Fluffier than a cloud that overslept. The pancakes? Perfectly golden, like they were kissed by the sun itself. The bacon? Crispy enough to restore my faith in humanity. My waitress, leyla was great! Thank you dennys!

I don’t know that I’ve ever actually sat down at this Denny’s to eat, but I’ve ordered takeout many times. I wasn’t impressed with the past takeout service, however, for about the last month or two I see a big improvement. And when I did just recently eat in at the restaurant, service was awesome, the manager came over to check on us and see how things were going. I was very impressed.
For some reason when I posted this review it posted about the Denny’s on Layton Avenue. Although I have always enjoyed the Denny’s on Layton Avenue, it is the one in Pewaukee that this review was intended to be about.

Stopped in around lunchtime on a Saturday with my sister. The place was busy but we were seated quickly. Unfortunately the food was bland (had eggs, potatoes and toast) The toast was made with very cheap bread. The hash browns were not cooked all the way through. The waitress did not check on us and we had to flag someone down so we could get a bill to leave. Not worth the money – will not be back.
