We had our first meal of our three-generation family trip at Denny’s. Overall, the food was a bit on the salty side, but we were able to enjoy a filling meal. One small issue was that the bread in the sandwich was over-toasted and quite hard, which made it a little uncomfortable to eat. On the other hand, the burger bun was good.
We appreciated that soda refills were available, and the staff checked with us politely while cleaning around the table to make sure we were comfortable. We were slightly concerned after seeing some negative Google reviews from 2–3 years ago, but overall our experience was satisfying. Our table server was friendly and attentive as well.
If we visit Oahu again in the future, we would consider stopping by once more.

We came to Denny’s Kapahulu two days in a row and were lucky enough to have Alex as our server both times. He was seriously SUCH a great server. Friendly, attentive, and just genuinely kind.
He remembered us, made sure everything came out right, kept checking in without being overbearing, and had such a positive attitude. You can tell he really cares about giving good service.
It made our experience so much better, and we really appreciated him. If you go, ask for Alex — you won’t regret it!

I was on vacation with my family and I was absolutely blown away with the Service Ben gave us. He’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and genuinely loves serving. He was talking about how he loves serving people so much that if the restaurant closed at 11pm and someone walked in at 10:59. He’d be super happy to serve them haha. Anyways absolutely one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at breakfast. Ben your awesome. He deserves a raise!!!

Our go to breakfast in Waikiki. Shout out to our regular waitress Alyssa (beep beep) who embodied the Aloha spirit. A bit of a hidden gem down the end of the street we could always get a table no problem. Their breakfast so delicious and filling. Perhaps underappreciated as a restaurant always available to those on the mainland. For international visitors who don’t have Dennys in their country a must try! Their milkshakes also delicious and great value, refills the glass 2 to 3 times. Their dinner meals also brilliant, particularly the Bourbon skillet chicken on a bed of vegetables.

I’ve been to this location so many times and never felt compelled to leave a review, but this time the service was above and beyond! Ben took such great care of our ‘ohana, interacted with our little one, and gave great recommendations for things we’ve never tried before. Mahalo for being so patient and enthusiastic, you made our visit so enjoyable! Will definitely be back to request our favorite server 🙂

Alex was our server and he was awesome, provided great service, took care of us on a timely basis. Pleasant to talk to and never talks bad about other customers while working. Great character!! Went over the menu and showed us the popular dishes. Even showed us the over 55 menu, saved us some money.
