Recently visited this Denny’s in Madisonville KY for a light dinner on a Sunday late afternoon. There was no wait and we were seated right away.
As we perused the menu and one of us was thinking a patty melt sounded good, but did not see it on the menu. We asked our server if it would be possible to order such a plate. The answer was yes, they could make one up in the kitchen. So we landed on an ultimate omelette with hash browns and a Diner Classic Patty Melt with fries. The prices were decent and the food was tasty! Thanks to the kitchen and servers for accommodating our request!

Haven’t been here in a long time so I decided to go Sunday morning. Had an awesome experience. Was greeted and seated immediately. Service was fast and friendly. But the food…my god…it was so good! Got the strawberry crepes and they were amazing! Hashbrowns were crispy to perfection. Everything was so good!

This place seems to decide what they’re “allowed to serve” early morning 5am-8am arbitrarily depending on what the cooks in the back feel like making. If the full menu is not available the corporate needs to correct this and stop offering it on the menu! The pancakes also taste like dirty grill top, burger meat and onions. You’re either storing you mix in the fridge with other items or cooking the pancakes on a dirty grill top. Also the shakes taste slightly like sour cream, gross.

Dinner tonight in madisonville at Dennys. . Berry berry slam. Food ice cold. I sent it back—they didn’t even rearrange it. Just microwaved it and brought it back. All of it was so hard it was inedible. It’s hard to pay for food you leave on the table and walk out still hungry. The waitress apologized but didn’t offer amends. Oh well. There are other places for breakfast

Eating in Madisonville KY tonight, we had the best server ever. JESSIE was super efficient, friendly, tended to us in great fashion. The food was great. Drinks were refilled quickly. I love this location!!!!! The Cobb salad was fresh, and my 55+ meal was superb. No reason to go anywhere else!

The greeter met and seated us within a minute. Food came quickly and was hot and delicious.
Our server was Emily. She was great. She has waited on us several times over the years and is always efficient and pleasant. When we see that she is going to be our server we know we’re going to have a nice experience.
The only drawback is that the air conditioner is always blowing full blast making the restaurant freezing cold.

This was a great place to stop between Indiana and Alabama. The staff was friendly and even knew what I needed to avoid for my allergy (alpha gal). Service was quick and the bathrooms were clean.

There was 1 waitress on duty on a Saturday night. The manager was there, but was hiding in the back somewhere for almost the entire time. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks. The waitress was stressed and running around the best she could. There appeared to be only one cook also, but i might be wrong on that. we watched people wait for close to 10 minutes just to pay for their food.

I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant to actually come back to Denny’s after the horrible experiences that Ive encountered in the past year or more . . However, I am very happy to admit that this past Tuesday & Wednesday nights – they have done a complete 180 Degrees!!
First off, I have to say after a long day and evening of working, it was so nice to have a nice quiet atmosphere and to be greeted by such a beautiful smile
My Server, Sarah, just put me in a nice comfortable state of ease. . . She was so friendly and I hesitantly ordered coffee. . . You know how usually at restaurants you get your first cuppa and then you never see a refill. . Boy did I have Sarah Pegged wrong! ! In fact, as I would find out later – I should have just said no to the caffeine and the coffee as I tried to fall asleep later and had just given up. . Hello Insomnia
She never let that cup even get halfway empty! She was on it! Extra napkins – and all of this, even before I had to ask, I love that she could read my mind, even before I had to even ask –
On Tuesday night I had a grilled chicken sandwich and season fries that were absolutely amazing! I wanted wavy but they were out of stock but we’re even kind enough to not even charge me they usually upgraded price of $.99 for the season fries ! I hadn’t had a chicken breast sandwich, that was that juicy, in longer than I could remember . .
Before I could even ask, this young man named Ross, who had cooked this delicious meal, came out to ask me if I was enjoying my food. . As someone who has worked in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years, I was very impressed, especially at Denny’s that someone would even bother to come out and ask such a question. ( In this day & age – if your not dining at Les Chez Fancy )of course. . .
I then proceeded to tell him that it was the best thing that I have experienced at Denny’s in more than a year. . Of course, he was more than apologetic for this, and I told him it was not his fault. He hadn’t been cooking ALL those other meals BUT he went above and beyond to make sure that my experience reached and exceeded anything that I had experienced at this location!
I then came back the next night to have my long, awaited turkey breast and stuffing dinner that you see pictured here!
Again, after a long day and night of working, I was starved and was very eager to see Ross cooking again, and shortly after being seated, Sarah was on the late shift serving! These two make such a team- Just magic, I tell you! The portion was outstanding, and again, he hit it out of the park. .
As always, Sarah never let my drink hit more than halfway through this time, I learned, though I didn’t get coffee as I was wired from the night before, and I just couldn’t ask for a more friendly server. . Her smile and positive attitude is infectious!!
I think that they’ve done a real turnaround guys, and I am more than happy after two experiences now to post a review for five stars! I can’t say enough, good things about the food and the service and these two lovely individuals!
The portions, the taste and just the friendliness and the positivity I mean not to sound corny, but I have to say it kind of felt like a nice local Mom and pop. . 5
