Dempsey’s walks the line between cozy pub and modern gastropub chic. Warm wood, dim lights, local art on the walls — it’s the kind of place that says “late night with an old friend” instead of “rush and go.”
It’s packed enough to feel lively but not loud enough that you need to shout to be heard. Perfect for:
Date nights
Dinner with coworkers
A pint after work
Getting slightly wiser with each craft beer

Honestly the vibe is very welcoming right below the aquarium, has servers ready to take your order and bring you drinks at any moment, tons of things to do like pool, dart, and they host events pretty much every day of the week, from taco wednesday to karaoke including bingo! Definitely worth a go, shout out to nova too, best server nice sweet, friendly and very pretty

Had a really good time here. $1 tacos on Wednesday nights if consuming or $2 per taco if simply eating. I was expecting garbage food for that price. The food was actually very, very good. They have a live music venue on the second floor. Drink and beer selection is extensive and pricing isn’t bad being so close to the Fargo college campuses. Bartenders are friendly and super down to earth. Crowd is a surprising mix of locals, people getting off work, students, visitors, etc. Will make sure to return in the future.

Food is good but…. The bartenders and staff are horribly rude. Got thrown out of the bar because they wouldn’t search for a jacket I lost there. I simply asked them to check the cameras and they made a huge fuss! Crazy rude. Find a different bar to drink and have fun at.

Yikes! Ok, they discriminate against Canadians. You need a green card and passport and ID. Friend got kicked out by the bartender (not the guy at the door) for wobbling? Short dude with a beard is having a power trip. Very unfortunate for a place I deemed to be a “top spot” in fargo. Very possibly the worst staff available at any bar in town. It’s really a shame, will be avoiding from now on. Very unprofessional and need to have more training in place, because these people very clearly do not know what they are doing.

Bartender was very rude and could not tell me what was even on tap. Karaoke dj gave preference to the barbies who were there. One girl was called up to sing 3x in the two hrs we were there while we were not called up once. Definitely will not be back.

This place is a real experience. The staff is great. It has the vibe like it’s been here forever. There’s a blackjack table in the front window. Free popcorn. A game lounge in the back. A great venue upstairs. If they put in a bed and laundry, I’d never have to leave.

Great place to have a drink and a light lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and dark and the people are friendly. Upstairs is a fun little punk rock venue that has occasional shows or comedy. Great place.

Just a heads up to anyone not from the United States that you need have a passport available to be let in. I was excited to enjoy a fun night out with friends and spend money at the establishment with my valid Canadian drivers license and denied entry. Not sure of many people from a close Canadian province who carry a passport with them for a night out but apparently it’s required here as company policy. Simply a heads up to avoid any hiccups in your night.
