Founded in 1979 by 19-year-old Demosthenes Demo Karagas, Demo’s Greek Food started in Castle Hills, San Antonio, with a vision to share authentic Greek flavors. The restaurant quickly became a local favorite, with Demo’s mother, Lucille Karagas, a first-generation Greek American, playing a key role in the restaurant’s development. The family’s commitment to excellence, inspired by Lucille’s mother, Victoria Eugenides, whose recipes were renowned for their authenticity, is at the heart of Demo’s success. Today, Demo’s Greek Food proudly serves delicious, traditional Greek dishes, with two additional locations and a loyal customer base, carrying on the legacy of great food and family tradition.
Traditional Greek dishes such as souvlaki & pita sandwiches served in a laid-back setting.

First time visit to Demo’s and the food was very good. Went in about 12:30 on a Thursday and the place was very busy with takeout orders and dine in. We almost left because we couldn’t find a table but luckily one opened up. Even though they were busy the food came out in a decent amount of time and was very good.
Our only complaint is the restaurant is fairly small and can get very loud.

Lunch rush hour is crazy here. It was loud and crowded inside, so finding a clean table was not likely. The employee was working really hard to keep tables clean, but it was so busy.
Even with the crowd, we enjoyed our meal. The kids’ beef skewer was delicious, and the lunch special with spicy feta was great as well. The decoration inside was beautiful. They should add trash cans to help during rush hour.

My husband brought my daughter and I here for lunch today and we absolutely loved this place!
The woman working the register was super friendly and kind, the atmosphere was so bright & beautifully decorated, and the gyros were hands down the best in the city. They even have a huge sign hanging on the wall acknowledging their award winning gyros and some Blue Plate Awards from News4.

It was my first time visiting Demo’s Greek food. I walked in and realized how popular the place was, it was a full house. I found a spot in their bar area. The wait was a bit long since it was lunch hour. The food was great, nice and fresh loved the lunch special options. Will definitely be coming to Demo’s again.

It’s a really cheap place to have Greek food. Meal is quite good for such price. But the inside of course is not nice. Not very clean, looks very cheap. I don’t very like that style of ordering and serving when you order at cashier’s, they cook it and then you get by yourself your trays with food. But I should tell that their feta fries are excellent. Olives too. All the other I’ve tried is very average.

A great spot for a healthy and affordable meal. The place is lovely, with a huge mural that adds character. The food is consistently delicious — I highly recommend it! My favorite is the deluxe gyro wrap, and I always swap the fries for a small Greek salad.

Excellent Greek food for value price. Counter order restaurant.. fetch meal when your number is called. Excellent quality Greek salad. Moussaka was also very good.. not greasy. Pita bread was rather too fluffy and soft for me…a hot crispy and thinner version would make me happier. Will come again!
