Founded in 1979 by 19-year-old Demosthenes Demo Karagas, Demo’s Greek Food started in Castle Hills, San Antonio, with a vision to share authentic Greek flavors. The restaurant quickly became a local favorite, with Demo’s mother, Lucille Karagas, a first-generation Greek American, playing a key role in the restaurant’s development. The family’s commitment to excellence, inspired by Lucille’s mother, Victoria Eugenides, whose recipes were renowned for their authenticity, is at the heart of Demo’s success. Today, Demo’s Greek Food proudly serves delicious, traditional Greek dishes, with two additional locations and a loyal customer base, carrying on the legacy of great food and family tradition.
Traditional Greek dishes such as souvlaki & pita sandwiches served in a laid-back setting.

ST Mary’s Strip!! I came in with a hunger for Gyros and of course Demos has the BEST options! I always choose the combination Gryo with multiple protein, with everything on it paired with fries Super Fresh every time and not a long wait at all. Very worth it! I haven’t tried their Greek deserts but they look amazing just never have room!

Context: We come from the Houston area and are grading based on higher standards of food and value.
Firstly, the pricing was kind of steep $8.50 for a mini beef gyro with fries, the fries were thick cut but extremely bland, they came with no seasoning at all, they were extremely soggy and just tasted like boiled potatoes. As for the gyro the white sauce was surprisingly bland and the beef had only a hint of aromatics but no real seasoned or marinated taste. Overall the gyro was small and bland a terrible combination. I also ordered Spanakopita which was $5.99. A simple fried triangle with feta and spinach, this was the only decent piece of the meal, it was cheesy and rich super worth it.
Overall: Overpriced, bland, and soggy

We were sitting on the patio having dinner and the wind blew our umbrella that caused our food to splatter everywhere. They were very kind to replace one of the meals that we hadn’t finished without us even asking. It was also 10 minutes before closing and they still did it. That’s customer service at its best. Food is fresh and tasty.

This place is super busy during lunchtime. The high quality of the food justifies the wait. It’s open seating and I didn’t have a problem finding a seat although they take a while to clean tables when people leave. After I ordered and paid for my food it took around 15min to get it. I ordered the chicken and beef combo platter and it was excellent. I liked both meats equally. The tzatziki sauce was awesome. I will be coming back many more times. They have some lunch specials but I felt the double portions of meat in combo platter was better for my appetite.

I ordered the gyro plate. It came with a Greek salad as well. The flavor of the food was phenomenal. The freshness and quality of ingredients was amazing.. The price was definitely reasonable compared to what fast food places charge. It was a wonderful amount of food for the price. The atmosphere was inviting, very clean and the employee that took my order (maybe an owner?) was very kind and helpful. This is hands down my new go-to for Greek food! Yum!! ☺️

Stopped in a couple of days ago, and was truly impressed. The decor is comfortable and great. Love the layout, especially upstairs. The staff are great. So friendly and helpful as it was our first time visiting. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Just sorry I hadn’t tried Demo’s way sooner. We will be back again and again.

Food was fresh and tasty, the baklava was the best I ever had! The place was a bit noisy for my liking but looked very nice on the inside. The limeade was also a very tasty surprise. Would love to come back outside of their peak hours.

Excellent gyros & tzatziki. Good pita. Great homemade fries. Staff is friendly, but it’s set up like a fast food joint. Cool location and fascinating old building.

I would try somewhere else if you are looking for a satisfying Gyro. Everything was good except the meat was dry. It had a texture that makes me believe the meat was trimmed off and sat for hours in the open air. It was not tender, it was not juicy. It sort of ruined the meal.
The fries were flavorless except for the oil that they were cooked in.
