Food is wonderful & drinks are delish, and allow for longer dining time. The food is worth the wait and the manager checks in on tables frequently which is comforting. Highly recommend the grape leaves appetizer, chicken picatta, and pork marsala.

I am blown away with how “meh” of an experience that my partner and I had.
We love the Greek/Mediterranean food that RVA has to offer, and we wanted to try a new spot so I booked us a reservation 2.5 weeks in advance. Our waitress was stellar, but the food did not justify the price. After eating here and reading reviews, a common complaint was of the calamari being rubbery – which it was. My partners’ main dish looked..boiled? We were given a disclaimer that it came with a lot of beans, which it came with nearly 2 cups of. His side – sauteed artichokes and peas – was predominantly peas, with a few artichokes that tasted canned. Both of his dishes lacked flavor. My whole branzino was okay, but the gigantes were likely canned (texture of beans were so inconsistent, and had a tinned flavor). The sangria also had a moldy raspberry, but was promptly handled by the waitress.
But people seem to love this place, and I’m not sure if it’s just because it’s been around for some time/loyal customers, it was an off day, or if we ordered the wrong dishes. Unfortunately we tried a wide enough variety of things to know that we aren’t keen on trying it again anytime soon, especially for what we paid.

I’m Greek. Go to Greece yearly too. Demi’s is easily top 3 in RVA. They claim to be ‘mediterranean’ but yeah, they’re Greek.
My first time there and it was fantastic.
I’m going to keep my review short here or else I’ll go back.
FOOD: Ordered a little bit of everything. Octopus was well cooked, not rubbery – lots of flavor. Spanakopita was decent with thick dough – not spectacular though. Would pass on it next time for something else. Pastistio was great – just would’ve preferred a bechamel than a vodka sauce. Shrimp Santorini was a banger and needed a spaghetti to mop it up.
The dessert is a Galaktoboureko (mouthful of syllables) – it’s kind of like a Portugeuse egg tart with a light cream, sounds weird but is great.
SERVICE: Great for a local spot.
PRICES: Very reasonable.
OVERALL: I’ll be coming back!
Bon AppePETE! Ain’t no rookie reviews – more on the IG!

A comfortable place in a quiet Northside neighborhood with reasonable prices, good service and a nice little bar area. Nice vegetarian options and generally healthy menu. I especially recommend the thin sliced crispy aubergine appetizer with thyme, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of honey. We will be back!

We had the octupus appetizer, three dips, orecciette (giant), and whole fish. Everything was delicious. The octopus was the best I’ve ever had. The service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity.

Regrettably, I neglected to take pics of the food. From the charred marinated octopus appetizer to the delicious special swordfish w/shrimp and spicy sauce made with roasted red peppers, we were very impressed with the delightful fare. Best swordfish I’ve ever eaten, so tender and melt in your mouth juicy ness! The white Cosmo and Mediterranean Manhattan were prepared perfectly, and the Viognet paired with the swordfish was just right. The cheese cake dessert was a disappointment, however, trying to be more than the classic style, using chocolate ganache and a hard, dry chocolate biscuit-cookie and whipped cream. The small bit of cheesecake was lost in the flavor melange. But once again, one of our favorite local restaurants has delivered once again!!

First time here and the food, drinks and service were great! Definitely will be back! Finding parking was a little challenge, but definitely worth it. We had the grilled calamari, cauliflower and scallops and shrimp. Delicious!!! Highly recommend!!

This was a great location. The whole experience was enjoyable. They were constantly replacing the iced water bottle. The baked feat appetizer was outstanding. The octopus dish was quite good. I had Adana Kebabs for my meal. The Kebabs were top notch. The selection for wines was good most bottles were around $40. The desserts were even better. On a Saturday night at 6 we were able to get a table for 3 without waiting. Staff were all nice and efficient.
