Great barbecue place with a wide selection of drinks and barbecue food I really enjoy the big salads that they make.

The food was amazing! The BBQ sauce is not as thick as what I’m used to, but it was so good & worked perfectly for my brisket loaded baked potato. The brownies were also really good.

When craving barbecue, one expects smoky flavors and tender meats. However, BBQ Joint’s half chicken veers more towards homestyle baked chicken than traditional BBQ. While not bad, it lacks the signature smokiness or BBQ flavor.

️ On a brighter note, the fajitas are a savory delight, offering a burst of flavor with every bite. The blend of spices and tender meat make them a highlight of the menu.

Ending the meal on a sweet note, the apple pie is decent, though it doesn’t reach the heights of deliciousness or spectacular taste. It’s a satisfactory ending to the meal.

With reasonable prices, BBQ Joint offers a descent dining experience for those seeking comfort food without breaking the bank. While it may not dazzle with every dish, it’s a reliable option for a satisfying meal.

Salt and pepper goes a long way! Everything was bland and the chicken and brisket were dry. The only flavor came from the bbq sauce it came smothered in. Also the food was barely warm! The hottest thing on my plate was green beans I ordered. I also tried the potato salad but it was meh. Wouldn’t not visit again sadly.

Food came out super fast. So fast, you can tell the fries were old and not made fresh. The fries were soggy and had no seasoning. The brisket sandwich was big and tender, but it had absolutely no flavor. The BBQ sauce also had no flavor. I’ll try again another day to see if my experience is different, but so far this is the worst BBQ I’ve had in Houston.

Food: 2.5 stars
Service: 2 stars
Atmosphere: 5 stars

A surly elderly woman at the front counter greeted me with a scowl and made me feel unwelcome. Even after told her I was a first-time customer, she responded to my questions with curt answers. A regular customer came in after me, and the counter lady was a completely different person — warm and friendly.

I ordered brisket, cole slaw and green beans. The brisket had a nice smoky flavor but otherwise wasn’t that memorable. The green beans must have been out of a can, and the slaw was average. The pickle and condiment bar was excellent.

The dining room is spacious and super clean. The silverware wrapped in a cloth napkin is a nice touch.

My lunch with ice tea cost $18. The serving of brisket was generous, and I took half of it home and had it for lunch the next day.

We have been considering this restaurant after attending an event, where this restaurant’s food was served. While in the area, we stopped in for dinner, also realizing it forty-five minutes from closing. The dining room was empty except for one or two tables. The service was fine. The ham sandwich was delicious and moist. The barbecue sauce was watery, tasteless, and not enjoyable. While dining, we overheard a nearby patron repeatedly using profanity. We hoped it would stop, but it never did. My wife and I felt uncomfortable. We rushed our meals and felt our money had been wasted as the profanity continued. Never before had this happened elsewhere. Exiting the restaurant my wife walked by the table to inform the patron that his profanities weren’t acceptable. He said nothing, but was likely embarrassed. Seated with the patron, to our surprise was the manager. We likely won’t be returning….

If you’re looking for good bbq, look somewhere else; which is not hard in Houston.

Seen this place for years, never tried it. Decided to order it off DoorDash. I got the wrong meat, got sausage instead of chicken. The other two meats (brisket and turkey) came but flavor was non-existent. Smokey flavor was subtle almost like it was added vs actually smoked. Normally I prefer my bbq without sauce, but to salvage the flavor I added the included sauce and that too was bland. I also ordered a pecan pie and ice cream and Im sure it was out of a box. The ice cream was a 3 oz single serve cup of Blue Bell like the kind you used to buy at school minus the wooden spoon.

All this cost $45 which would have been worth it if it was good, but I’m shocked they have lasted this long in a city with great bbq. Not wishing their downfall or anything, but personally this is my 1st and last time trying this.

Demeris BBQ is a hidden gem that offers delicious barbecue dishes at a reasonable price. Located in Montrose, it stands out as a go-to spot for BBQ enthusiasts in the area. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:

Demeris BBQ boasts a menu packed with mouthwatering barbecue options that cater to various tastes. From smoky ribs to tender brisket, their selection is sure to satisfy any carnivorous cravings. The flavors are rich, and the meat is cooked to perfection, ensuring a delightful dining experience.

One aspect that sets Demeris BBQ apart is its affordability. In an area where barbecue joints tend to have inflated prices, Demeris BBQ provides excellent value for the quality of the food. It’s refreshing to find a place that offers such tasty BBQ without breaking the bank.

The menu also extends beyond the traditional barbecue fare, offering a variety of sides and accompaniments that complement the meaty mains. The mac and cheese are creamy, the baked beans have a satisfying smokiness, and the cornbread adds a touch of sweetness to balance out the savory flavors.

The atmosphere at Demeris BBQ is casual and welcoming, perfect for a laid-back dining experience. The service is friendly, and the staff is attentive, ensuring a pleasant visit from start to finish.

One minor drawback is that the restaurant can get busy during peak hours, which may result in longer wait times. However, the delicious food and reasonable prices are well worth the wait.

In conclusion, Demeris BBQ delivers on its promise of tasty barbecue delights at a wallet-friendly price. The flavors are on point, the portions are generous, and the overall dining experience is enjoyable. Whether you’re a BBQ aficionado or simply craving some delicious smoked meats, Demeris BBQ is a fantastic choice.

Demeris Bar-B-Q on S. Shepard is always great. I must say though they’ve ruined me from going any other day than Saturday, due to their ALL YOU CAN EAT RIBS Feature for only $20.⁹⁹.
It’s really tasty from the Pork Spare Ribs to the sides. I typically get Charro Beans, Macaroni and Cheese, and Potato Salad. I always try to add A little Brisket, just so I don’t get sick of the one meat option. It’s priced very reasonably, compared to other places in the area wanting almost $30/#. The staff is always friendly and quick.
