Typical generic diner food. Very sneaky about charging extra for credit card use. Saw a small sign by the register on my way out. Pretty sure it said 4% discount for cash. But the difference between the price on the board and the price I paid was nearly 25%. Not all of the population is stupid, but the proprietors of this establishment seem to think so. I feel like those giving this place 5 stars are either being paid to do so, or have never experienced actual good food.

Del’s Cafe has a variety of classic diner options, but my fave is Del’s Hearty Man’s Combo. $13 gets you two eggs (not pictured because I don’t care for eggs), breakfast sausage, bacon, smoked sausage, hash browns, and pancakes! Plus they have an excellent cheese steak sandwich and homemade pies. The cafe may not have much ambience, but the service was friendly and prompt and the food was delicious.

Great small town diner! Actually ended up here on accident. We went to Jimmy’s Pizza (really close to this) and sat down and no one was taking our order they were just standing behind the counter. Turns out we had to go up and order but no one was telling us that they just stood behind the counter so that tells me they didn’t want business. We left after like 30 minutes. Anyways we were really pleased with this place. The service was good and we met really nice strangers and we had a good time. I had a burger and it was good as well. Hope to come back soon!

Went for breakfast on a weekday. The restaurant was busy. The menu has a lot of variety and daily specials. I ordered the eggs benedict with hashbrowns, pancakes, bacon, cinnamon roll, and chicken noodle soup. The hollandaise sauce was great. The pancake was fluffy with crispy edges. The bacon was smokey. The cinnamon roll was delicious. The chicken noodle soup has homemade noodles. Took a while to get refills. Would visit again.

I have gone here on and off since I came here in 2022. Food has always been pretty good generally, don’t have much problem with service.

The issue mainly is I have gotten sick a number of times after visiting. One regular employee I encounter fairly often out and about has severely poor hygiene. He smells like an ashtray, his clothes reek, and half the time he smells like he doesn’t bathe. I don’t visit as often anymore for this reason alone.

Today, I went, got a breakfast meal with extra bacon. Every time before, it was around 2-3 extra slices depending on size. Today, ONE slice extra. 2.50 for one slice of bacon. Prices have been going up, but this is just being stingy.

I will be going less and less if they are going to be stingy and keep someone that feels a damp rag is equivalent to a bag as a full timer in the kitchen and as a night janitor. He reminds me of my Uncle Steve, a chainsmoker that does nothing to get ahead in life with an addiction to tobacco and soda and an aversion to soap. This is a warning.

Excellent food, homey place with retro vibe, and our server Ms. Diane was the sweetest.
We had the Eggs Benedict with Hashbrown, a chocolate milkshake that was absolutely delicious and a couple of juices.

We loved it and highly recommend it if you stop by St. Charles.

We came into town for breakfast while traveling on the interstate. The food was better than your average breakfast spot, with freshly cut large vegetables and generous portion sizes. The pancakes were fantastic! The service was okay – just minor inconveniences – coffees weren’t topped off, no straws provided for little toddlers milk, etc. If there’s no street parking available, there’s a lot around back with a bit of a sketchy back entrance.

Nice, hometown diner in old St. Charles, Minnesota. I’m a truck driver, parked by I90 at the Love’s. I took a walk into town and popped into the Diner on Sunday afternoon. Breakfast is served all day. Nice staff, nice service. When you’re on the road, take the exit and go down along the main street. You’ll see the sign. Stop in for a delicious burger, sandwich, or breakfast. Just a comfort zone, which a trucker needs.

Food was normal cafe food. Nothing that overly stood out but was good. Our waitress was great though, I’d go back.
