Delmonico’s Steakhouse, Syracuse, NY
While there’s no official mocktail menu at Delmonico’s, the bartender didn’t let that stop them. I ended up with a fizzy blend of grapefruit, peach purée, and orange juice, bright, effervescent, and far more thoughtful than the usual off-menu attempt. A pleasant surprise, especially in a place where the drinks lean heavily toward the classics.
The shrimp cocktail arrived looking textbook, plump, chilled shrimp over a bit of lettuce, but it’s the cocktail sauce that really steals the show. Zesty, tangy, with just enough horseradish heat to catch your attention. Honestly, if they bottled it, I’d be walking out with a case. It brought back the nostalgic zing of my favorite coastal seafood shack’s signature blend.
Then came the small ciabatta loaf with a generous side of herbed butter. Simple? Yes. But undeniably comforting. It’s the kind of bread service that sets a tone, warm, soft, and clearly made with care.
Now, let’s talk about the heavyweight, the one-pound lasagna. A towering stack of pasta, ricotta, beef, and sausage smothered in a marinara that could hold its own against any red-sauce joint. Rich without being overwhelming, and seasoned to that just-right sweet spot between hearty and refined.
Finally, a shoutout to Mari, my server, gracious, attentive, and the kind of presence that elevates a meal from good to memorable. If you find yourself at Delmonico’s, ask for her. You’ll be in good hands.

Love Delmonico’s! We always have a great time. I love the filet marsala with angel hair. Skip the fried mozzarella appetizer The antipasto is out of this world. Standard drink menu. Best bread and homemade butter Friendly service each time. A regular stop for us for all occasions.

We made reservations, didn’t have to wait as we arrived on time. The steak was cooked to perfection as always, however the salmon was a little dry with a fishy smell. Service was spot on as always and the price was reasonable for such a nice establishment.

This was my first time trying this steakhouse, my sister had a Birthday dinner which was about 9 people. They can definitely handle large parties at this location. As we was seated we saw other large parties so it seems normal for people to have large parties here. The food was average, I had the chicken riggies. The pasta and the sauce was really good but the chicken was very dry. I was told the chicken was grilled which is probably why it was dry. I feel how ever you choose to cook your chicken make sure it’s not dry. I only had one bite of the chicken and gave the rest away to my sister to take home. My sister had steak which was really tender. The steak was really good but I just didn’t like the gravy, my sister agreed she didn’t really like the gravy either but the steak was really good. Someone else at the table had the fried calamari which I was able to try and I enjoyed that. We had the fritas mozzarella things as an appetizer and they weren’t the best. Mozzarella sticks are one of my favorite things to eat so I was shocked I didn’t enjoy those. Maybe some adjustments to a few things would make the food experience better. I would not chose to go back here on my on but if I had to go to another party at this place I would. I would try to order something different to see if I just prefer a different dish then what I chose before. I still had fun spending time with family atmosphere was cool and it wasn’t too loud.

The pasta was really bad – not al dente, swimming in thin sauce, sautéed like dining hall Chinese food. Decor looked nice, service was fast and attentive overall.

Had nothing short of an amazing meal with my son. Bill was $100 and everything was cooked perfectly. It’s nice being able to walk into a restaurant with such a well mannered atmosphere and everything else just delivered with no disappointment. Thank you for a great evening!

I travel across the US installing and set up equipment. This is one of the best places to eat in the country period. The service was great , the steak was awesome, and the inside was very well done. Great place 100%. You need to go here at least once in your life. Second trip 2 months later wow it was good

I don’t know why we didn’t visit this restaurant sooner, but we’re happy we ate here tonight. We started by sharing and antipasto salad for two. The ingredients were first rate and the balsamic vinaigrette was delicious. We ate it with some of the complimentary bread and whipped butter. I ordered the 6-oz filet medallions with marsala sauce. It came with angel hair pasta. The steak was cooked as ordered and had a nice char and flavorful seasoning. However, I found the marsala sauce bland and asked for some marinara sauce for the pasta. That was delicious. My wife ordered the flame grilled chicken with a side of sauteed mushrooms. She also enjoyed her meal. The biggest surprise was the desert. We ordered the spumoni tartufo and two spoons. It was outstanding, and definitely large enough to share. It consisted of a ball of chocolate, pistachio, and cherry ice cream surrounded by a hard shell of chocolate, cut into four sections and surrounded by whipped cream, and raspberry and chocolate sauces. It was a wonderful way to end a terrific meal. Our server did an excellent job and the manager stopped by our table to ask how we had enjoyed our meals. Overall, the quality of the food here is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Will be back soon. UPDATE-1: Returned for another excellent meal. I ordered the 9 oz fillet with a side of pasta and some extra marinara sauce. As I found my first time here, the marinara sauce is excellent. The steak was so tender it almost dissolved in your mouth. And it was cooked medium well as ordered, a good amount of pink but no red. My wife told the manager that the meatballs she had ordered were the best she’d had in a very long time, and the side of a plate-size hunk of broccoli was cooked perfectly. Again we shared and enjoyed the spumoni tartufo for dessert. UPDATE-2: perhaps our third experience at this restaurant suffered from the fact that they were very busy on a New Year’s Eve. The service was still excellent, but the food suffered. Our antipasto salad for 2 was mostly lettuce and was missing the promised sliced egg and artichoke. I ordered shrimp scampi with a request for extra garlic. It’s possible the order was misinterpreted in the kitchen as a request for less garlic because I could barely detect it. The pasta, shrimp, and spinach were generous and perfectly cooked, but the sauce was a tasteless oil. I ate the shrimp and took the pasta home where I rinsed it in hot water and served it with marinara sauce. I’ve reduced my rating of the restaurant from 5 to 4 stars. UPDATE-3: Our fifth visit was to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Even though they were packed by 5 p.m., we had a reservation and were seated immediately. I very much enjoyed my meal of filet with a side of angel hair pasta with extra marinara sauce, but my wife was disappointed in her chicken marsala. When the waitress noticed that she hadn’t eaten the dish, she checked with the manager and he kindly deducted the cost from our bill. We shared a spumoni tartufo for dessert and it was excellent as always.
