We were driving through the area and wanted to give this place a try. It tasted like an authentic Jibarito and the tostones were good. I would definitely come back for more.

Went there this morning. I usually go there as the last minute resort. Their food is okay. I guess. But I give it a 3
Reason why the portions are too small. For what they charge, and I went to get a soup this morning.A soup of sachichon and they just gave me some diced up ham very small, not like the original recipe is I asked with the soup with some rice on the side. Some white rice on the side, and they put yellow rice inside the soup already. And package it that way.And then they gave me the white rice on the side.I did not want the soup with the rice inside.I wanted the rice on the side. Therefore, not enjoying the food I bought. And the soup was not authentic puerto.Rican, because the ingredients, especially the meat, is not the right one. They use it was very disappointing prefer to go to Chicago. They have better puerto rican food out there. But it’s a drive

This is a hole in the wall contender with great food and right next to some roach motel. Came here on a Saturday and not dissuaded by the lack of crowd. Ordered the pasteles aka Puerto Rican tamale. First time experiencing it but enjoyed the interesting savory flavor and texture. Also ordered tostones as an appetizer. The tostones do not appear pounded like the ones I’ve had at other places. But they were nonetheless tasty. The other dishes we ordered were steak jibarito and shrimp mofongo. The jibarito was good compared to others I’ve had but the rice that came with it was pretty dry. The mofongo came shaped as a bowl with shrimp and gravy. The shrimps were as small as they can get and was a bit heavy on the sodium. Overall, the food was tasty, affordably priced and comforting. The downside was the cold temperature of the interior that made it uncomfortable to dine. We’ll probably come again when the weather warms up and try the many other interesting dishes this place has to offer.

Food was good but not great. It was just a a little too bland. Puerto Rican food is usually bursting with flavor and it lack that. Alcapurria and papa relleno had a different flavor and the texture was also very different.

The Food was Okay! Not a Real Puerto Rican Restaurant. I asked for Stewed Pigeon peas and they didn’t have any. Asked for fried Bacalito and I received a tostada type fried codfish not at all Puerto Rican. Also the portion of serving was way to small for the large platter desired. To top it off the Mexican girl in the front registered ringing people of was kinda unprofessional never greeted us nor the rest of the customers stepping in. I would highly recommend this business to stick to it’s Puerto Rican roots not Mixing it with Mexican food because it throws off the whole entire purpose of authentic Real Puerto Rican Food respectfully. It’s supposed to be a Puerto Rican Restaurant not Mexican.

I enjoy the flavor of their cooking. I must say that as an Puerto Rican Islander, they make me remember my abuelita (grandma). Don’t expect a fancy restaurant, it’s a family small place but the food it’s amazing. Service is good, p it was not busy when I was there, and the place is clean. They have plenty of parking. Don’t leave without trying their Flan!
