If you’re in Lakewood and you hear the words “I’m starving” (which is basically every 12 minutes), Deli West is one of those places that comes through like a loyal chavrusa who actually shows up on time.
First of all, it’s in Westgate, so it’s perfectly positioned for the classic “I’m just running in for one thing” lie… and then you walk out with a full meal, a drink, and maybe something “for later” (which, let’s be honest, means in the car before you even hit the light).
The food is mamesh solid — fresh, generous portions, and the kind of deli options that make you stand there like you’re learning a sugya: “Should I go fleishigs… or fleishigs?” Their sandwiches hit the spot, and everything feels like it’s made with a little extra lev (and a lot of good seasoning).
Service is also on point — quick, normal, no attitude. They move you along nicely even when it’s busy, which is a real chessed when you’re hungry and your patience is already in galus.
Bottom line: reliable Lakewood deli energy — good food, good people, and you leave happy (and possibly needing a nap). Highly recommended.
