Who says New Yorkers aren’t nice? Very good experience with a friendly staff and excellent food. I arrived at 11:35 to beat the rush and I’m glad I did because it filled up quickly. Was it perfect? No, but it’s a new business and they’re going to be working out the kinks for a little bit.
First issue was with ordering. I quickly figured out where to place my order but so many customers coming in had no idea. Was it at the register or to the left and then you pay when you have your food? I directed at least six people to the register to order who were just standing around not knowing what to do. I strongly recommend the owners put up a sign or hang one from the ceiling directing customers to the register to place their order.
Staff…very friendly to me and to each other. Everytime someone passed something to another employee it was “Thank you” and “you’re welcome”. If they are treating each other that well you know it’s going to carry over to the customers and it did. The girls who interacted directly with the customers were super sweet and polite.
Food… Italian Stallion sandwich. I was stunned with disbelief and excitement as it was on REAL Italian bread. Not that stuff they pass off as Italian bread in the grocery stores, real, hard, Italian bread it was wonderful! Now there was an error with my sandwich as I asked for no tomato and no onion and the girl did ring it in that way but they were on the sandwich and I had to remove them. I’m still giving five stars because as I mentioned before, there’s going to be some growing pains and mistakes can happen.
Bagel with cream cheese… Toasted properly and cut. My wife was thrilled with it. She also loved the Matzoh ball soup. Cannolis and the cookies were to die for! Overall a wonderful lunch experience with fresh meats, great bread and soup. The quality of their products is outstanding! We will definitely be back and are very happy that such a top notch deli has arrived in Fuquay. Can’t wait to try multiple items on their menu as they have so many! Thanks for coming to Fuquay!!

I said I was dropping $50 on my first visit, and I certainly did! 2 BEC (baconeggncheese), potato soup, pasta salad, potato salad, chicken cutlet hero with eggplant fresh mozz and vodka sauce, and carrot cake!
Wow, wow! The BEC was heavenly. Roll was perfect, cheese was melty, it was delicious! The extra is for tomorrow’s breakfast!

Stopped for soup & sandwich. It was after 1, so I thought it would not be super busy. So wrong. The line was almost out the door.
I got a grilled cheese & tried the coleslaw (based on a previous customer recommendation). She did not steer me wrong. The cheese was thick & gooey, yum!
My husband got a reuben and pasta salad. Be really hungry because the sandwiches are huge. The sides are not, but definitely large enough to complement the sandwich. All sorts of extras (beet salad, broccoli salad, tomato & cucumber, the list goes on). Friendly service & once you order, the wait isn’t excessive.
Don’t plan on eating inside though, only a few spots for that.
I’d definitely go back.

The Mishlers
We visited Deli on Main Street in Fuquay today around 11am. Parking was a little tricky at first — no spots available on our first circle around — but one opened up on the second lap. When we left, we realized there were some unmarked spots we could have used, so keep an eye out for those!
We waited about 10 minutes to order and roughly 30 minutes for our sandwiches. There were so many delicious-looking items in the case to browse while waiting, which definitely helped pass the time.
One small suggestion: the menu screens changed a bit too quickly for me to comfortably read everything. Having a printed menu available (especially for those with poorer eyesight) or one displayed on the case would be really helpful.
I ordered The Dude Panini and my husband ordered The Italian Stallion. We requested no vinegar on his sandwich and no pickle. Unfortunately, his came with vinegar and neither sandwich had a pickle. Because of his history with vinegar, he wasn’t able to eat his sandwich, which was disappointing — especially since it looked really good.
That said, the overall vibe was great. The woman who took our order was very kind, and the entire staff felt friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend grabbing some rainbow cookies to snack on while you wait — they were delicious!
Definitely a splurge place, our total order was $50+ (2 sandwiches, 2 bags of chips, 1 container of rainbow cookies)
We’d definitely consider coming back and giving it another try.

I will say the food was amazing. Wish there was a place to sit and eat but maybe in time that will happen. I ordered the Italian stallion and it was very good! I will be back tomorrow but a little earlier to try and beat the lunch rush. You definitely have a customer for life. Thank you!!

This is an awesome little deli and the food was really good! Just wish they had a place to sit down! It was super crowded but the line went fast and the food was ready very quickly! They have a huge menu which is hard to look at because its on an automated board that changes pretty quickly, but if you look the menu up online its easier to make a choice. They had a lot of people working in a small space but they were efficient and it made for good service even right at lunch time. I would probably go a little later next time to avoid the rush!

The lady at the register was great! She gave us excellent suggestions and our sandwiches were amazing. The bread was a little hard, not sure if it’s always like that, but still delicious. I’d like to go back and try more, their desserts looked so yummy!! We waited quite a while for our two sandwiches, I felt a little longer than we should have, but it wasn’t unbearably long just being the two of us without the kids.

This is exactly what us transplants have been begging for, for years. Had breakfast AND lunch here today. The egg sandwich was perfection, my turkey also amazing, my husband while eating his chicken cutlet hero just kept repeating “is this real life”
