Reviews
The raita had an overly sour taste and lacked freshness, while the dal tadka was simply spicy without any real depth of flavor. The rice didn’t seem freshly prepared, and both the onion naan and butter naan tasted reheated rather than freshly cooked. Sadly, the overall meal caused some gastric discomfort afterwards.
Inside the restaurant the ambiance is kept bit good & restrooms are okay ; Although the staff were polite and friendly, they did not maintain proper restaurant manners or professionalism, which affected the overall dining experience.
The restaurant has potential, but it needs improvement in food freshness, hygiene, and staff training to truly reflect the richness of Indian cuisine.
We placed our order which included roti, kulcha, dal, rice, and raita. To our surprise, the food was served very quickly — much faster than expected. While prompt service is always appreciated, it made us wonder whether the dishes were freshly prepared or reheated before serving. The presentation of the food was decent, and the portions were sufficient for our group.
The roti and kulcha were soft and nicely done, though they seemed to have been kept warm for a while before being served. The dal had a good flavor and the right consistency, suggesting that it was cooked in a typical North Indian style. The rice was plain but fresh, complementing the dal well. However, the raita turned out to be a disappointment. Soon after eating, it gave off a slightly sour taste, which made us feel that it might not have been freshly prepared.
After finishing our meal, a feeling of heaviness developed, accompanied by a slight bitterness on the tongue. This can often happen when certain types of oil are reused or when food is reheated multiple times. It could also be due to the use of certain food additives or taste enhancers. While the cause can only be speculated, this after-effect did raise concerns about the freshness and quality of the ingredients used.
On the positive side, the staff remained polite and attentive throughout our visit. They served water on time, cleared the plates quickly, and maintained cleanliness at the table. The ambience, though basic, was tidy and comfortable for casual dining. The pricing of the food seemed moderate and affordable for a North Indian restaurant in Buffalo.
Overall, our experience was a mix of satisfaction and doubt. The service and hospitality were commendable, but the food quality and freshness need clear improvement. A restaurant’s success depends not only on how quickly food is served but also on ensuring that it is freshly cooked, hygienic, and safe for consumption. If Hotel Delhi Palace pays attention to these details—especially the freshness of dairy products like raita and the quality of oil used for cooking—it can significantly improve its reputation among both local and visiting customers.
In summary, Hotel Delhi Palace, Buffalo, has good potential and an authentic Indian touch, but it must focus more on food freshness, hygiene, and taste balance to provide a consistently enjoyable dining experience. With small improvements, it could easily become one of the preferred Indian restaurants in the area.
Highly recommend!!
We sampled a few curries, all of which were flavorful and well-balanced. The vindaloo was especially memorable with its bold spice and depth, and the Bengali eggplant was rich, smoky, and beautifully cooked.
Overall, everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and truly satisfying. Highly recommend.
