I’ve never had such a porridge experience with del taco or any fast food place ever. I drove 30min to eat there because my wife likes it alot. The girl taking my order took so long with awkward pauses. Noone else was in the drive thru. So they weren’t busy. She repeated my order back wrong 2x and then just told me drive forward. She didnt even have my order correct. What a ridiculous experience. I drove off and went to a dif place to eat.

Waiting in the drive thru from 11:02pm to 11:44pm before finally getting to the window I am then told my mobile order has been sitting there that entire time and I am OFFERED a remake the guy goes back to have it done and immediately his coworkers start having a fit about it then one of them tells drive thru guy to bring them my cold food they then proceed to rebag the same cold food and after another 12 minutes they hand it to me as if its fresh I get back on the road and immediately open a fish taco and is ice cold those tacos were so cold they needed a winter coat. How you gonna sit there and lie and make me wait another 12 minutes on top of the 42 minutes I already waited and then hand me the same cold food you offered to remake. Waste of my money and time. Drove the remaining 57 miles home hangry! Also drive thru guy needs to wear gloves if hes gonna be handling unwrapped food like fries!

As a native Californian living in the South Chicago suburbs for nearly 10 years, I only get to visit Del Taco when I visit family on the west coast. I sooo miss Del Taco, and I savored my meal. I’m only sad that I wasn’t able to eat more. Oh, and I’m kicking myself for grabbing a handful of hot sauce packets to take home. Here’s to hoping that one day Del Taco makes it out to the Chicago area.

The most pathetic street taco. 1 tortilla, hardly any filling at all, less than half, and no lime. The I opened up my chicken soft taco and it was just as pathetic on filling. My last hope was my chicken and cheddar quesadilla and behold, not one piece of chicken. I think I am done with this place.

Probably the worst Del Taco I’ve ever visited. I have gone a few times because I used to love Del Taco, and was hoping each previous visit was a fluke, but no. Almost no meat, practically no lettuce, half empty fries.

What did I just comsume? Admittedly, I haven’t been to a Del Taco in almost 20 years, but I recall it having plate entrees– beans, rice, and enchiladas, etc. What I walked into today was basically Temu Taco Bell. No plate items, just ala carte tacos, “wraps,” and the like. And they were available as ‘meals’ with a side of fries. Fries? Weird.
Anyway, the counter service was unassaulting, though our food sat on a tray on the counter for some time before anyone bothered to call us to pick up. Food itself was tepid, and not particularly good. Just Taco Bell grade stuff. Now that I know the restaurant has completely changed it’s brand strategy (whenever that was), I definitely won’t be back. I just don’t have a place in my palate for mediocre pretend Mexican food.

The asking price for the food is high in my opinion. My opinion is that Taco Bell is that it is tastier and has better pricing. 3 star review and will not make it a point to consistently come here.

After a hard day cleaning out my shop I decided to go get some Del tacos for my wife and I and some French fries for our dogs. Waited at the order speaker long enough that I shut my engine off. Finally someone got on the mic, I ordered 2 del tacos the way they come and 4 with no tomatoes. Got a large fry for our dogs and impulse bought a large chocolate shake. Get up to the window and pay with cash food came out quick then the kid hands me the shake. It was sloshing around like chocolate milk. I told him I don’t want this. Don’t why he would even try to give that to a customer. I said forget the milk shake and just give me my money back on that. He went and got a girl from the back and she said they couldn’t do that without the manager’s approval. What? Kid says pull up and I’ll get you another one. I pull around to the front doors and wait there about 7-8 minutes and nothing. I go in and he comes over from the drive thru window to make me another one. Hands me a shake that was identical to the other. I once again said I don’t want this. I wasn’t yelling or being mean but they all walked away. I’m standing there going hey, what are we gonna do here? My food is getting cold! It’s like these GenZ kids are so afraid of any level of conflict. The girl from the back makes me another finally and I just took it and left because the other food was getting cold by the minute. It was barely thicker than the first two. Get home and open the bag, fry’s were soggy but I let that pass because they were just for our dogs anyway. All 6 of the tacos had no tomatoes and the first one was stale, thought maybe just one bad one. Open another and it’s the one in the picture. The missing part of the shell wasn’t even in the wrapper ! Take a bite and it was stale. Enough of this, I get in the car and take the rest back to the store and ask when the manager will be there. Left the food with no refund because no manager which is crazy. I’ve never had a bad experience at this del taco before which super disappointing because I really like their tacos. Whenever we pass through Barstow CA we stop for del taco! If you know you know. Now I don’t know if I can ever trust this location again and it’s the only one we have in Salem. I also went to the corporate website to share my experience. I’m so disappointed. Remember this pic was taken after opening the taco, no bite had been taken yet. Do better!
So I went on the corporate site as well. They emailed me a $10 voucher. On a $23 order. Guess I’ll only be eating del taco when I pass through Barstow from now on. Just gonna be Taco Bell in Salem.
