My boyfriend and I went to DEKA Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. It was great! The restaurant is very modern and has an inviting and friendly environment. The staff and service were exceptional! As far as the food…YUM! I love French food and I am pretty picky. The crab cakes we ordered for an appetizer were warm and full of flavor. For dinner I ordered Sea Bass, which was cooked to perfection and had the perfect blend of herbs. My boyfriend ordered the Pork Bolognese and loved it. We were both very impressed with DEKA and can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I started at the bar and were treated by a “b52” shot which was unexpected and tasty.
The bar and restaurant were clean, well decorated and adorned with the artwork of a local artist. Our server was attentive and made several recommendations based upon our interests.
We enjoyed the chicken Kiev & wild salmon. The portions were larger than we had anticipated.
A host brought by a special horseradish infused vodka. After I resumed consciousness I returned to the table and enjoyed the live Four piece jazz ensemble.
We are looking forward to returning to Deka. It was worth the drive from Chicago!

What a terrific new place. My Girlfriend and I happened on this place by accident and I’m so glad we did. When we first walked in were were blown away by the beautiful vodka bar and the great greeting by staff and owner alike. We felt right at ease.
Between the wine list and a knowledgeable waiter we choose a great Pinot Grigio to compliment our Chicken Kiev and Duck Breast. Classic Dishes prepared in most remarkable presentations I have seen in a long time. Both were so good we wanted to clean our plates. Topped off the night with a smooth and creamy Creme Brûlée we shared. I can’t wait to go back. Thanks For making our evening so much fun!!!!!!

Ended up at Deka while visiting Chicago from S.F. Our hotel was near by, and we were looking for some good food without going into the city. This place opened recently, and had a menu with many interesting options, so we gave it a try. Really nicely designed place; has a contemporary romantic feel. VERY extensive Vodka selection (if you like sweet cocktails, try the jubilee), and lots of interesting appetizers. We had the frog legs (ok, was a bit too salty for me), steak tartare (really good, large portion), and mushroom soup (awesome!!). My son had the chicken Kiev (he really liked it, actually ate it all, this is very rare for him), we split the sugarcane scallops (cooked to perfection, really tasty sauce with chunks of pineapple). Topped dinner off with chocolate mousse (amazing!!! best I ever had).

I am a New York attorney who came to Chicago on business and stayed at the Westin in Wheeling. I made a reservation at Deka because the menu looked impressive and it was close to our hotel. I must admit that my expectations were not high, being a bit of a New York food snob. But I was absolutely blown away by Deka.
Before I even get to the food, I must discuss the service. Service was warm, quick, everything done with a smile, and the staff was quite knowledgeable about the menu. The best part was when the owner of the restaurant came over to our table to introduce himself and told us a little bit about the restaurant and the menu. It really added a very personal touch to our dining experience. I saw him do the same with all of the other tables. I understand that this restaurant opened recently, but I hope this aspect never changes.
The caliber of food is bar none. The highlights were the Poussin chicken, the rack of lamb, the foie gras two ways and my favorite–the chicken kiev. Everything was cooked perfectly, juicy, succulent, and left everyone wanting more. I also must give them a huge shout-out for the drinks menu. It seems that having a special drinks menu is the thing to do these days, I have seen it in many New York restaurants over the last year or two. I must say though, I never get the special drinks. I like dirty martinis and vodka sodas, so most “special” drinks are not my taste. I explained this to our server, but he insisted that I try the Cloud 9. All I can say is WOW! Not too sweet, can’t taste the alcohol (but believe me there was enough in there), a little spritz of cranberry and apple freshness, just perfect. I then moved on to the Jubilee, which was just as good. All of their drinks are vodka drinks, which I loved, as that’s my spirit of choice.
Everyone at the table could not stop talking about this restaurant for days. I wish Deka a lot of luck, and I will certainly be back the next time I am in town.

Came here last weekend with my girlfriend and we were blown away by not only the delicious menu, but the choices of vodka! Their vodka bar is extensive with all the classics and then some gems that are truly hard to find like Grey Goose VX and Anastasia. The staff are super friendly and youll feel like part of the family as soon as you sit down. Being from the area, I know that there arent a lot of higher end places like this and am so glad that Deka has come along

Friends told us about this place and we just had to see what all the excitement was about. What first struck us was the decor. Elegant, tasteful and sexy. We were greeted warmly and even had the owner stop by our table. He was very engaging and his pride in his restaurant came trhrough. He shared his vision with us and I have to say he is on to something. Food, drink and dessert were fantastic. We will definitely return.
