Buyer beware. Prices online are about half of what the new menu states. No wonder I was the only one there for lunch on a Thursday. $21 for a Reuben or patty melt? Out of the way places should not be charging these prices. Even Chili’s has a $10.99 burger/fries, chips/salsa, beverage. I wanted something non-corpoate. 1st visit to Maple Grove. Last visit to Dehn’s.

There was only one waitress. She told us it would be awhile, we were fine with that. As she was assisting two customers paying their bill with her, she told them: “I don’t know why they are all still standing there. I told them it would be hours.” The other woman helping out, maybe she was the hostess? She told another group that came in that they could sit down and it would be 15 minutes. I asked why they could sit and we couldn’t and she said well you can sit if you want. I asked the waitress what was going on and she then argued with me about her comment to the other people, she said wasn’t talking to me. She was clearly referring to us and the other couple that walked in behind us. (The only people standing around) Another group walked in and promptly walked out after hearing her conversation with me. I understand she was probably stressed being the only server, but honestly management/owners need to step up and help her out if they are so understaffed. We have lived in Dayton for five years, my dad was down visiting from the range and it seemed like his kind of place. We were sorry we didn’t get the chance to try it out.

This a great old school almost supper club-esque joint. Prices are low, portions are large and the flavor is even larger. Slightly off the beaten path, this stands out from all the other Maple Grove eateries by not being the standard, mediocre chain restaurant. From breakfast to dinner, they have you covered. The menu isn’t pages upon pages of options, but that is welcome in my book. We walked in this morning about an hour after opening and had the place to ourselves. We’ve been here at dinner with a short wait previously and it’s worth it.

We had a large group descend of the restaurant on a Saturday evening. We enjoyed the Chateau Briand for two for $63. We each got a house salad, choice of potato and a 22 oz chateau Briand smothered in sauteed mushrooms. It was good. Our waitress Joan was very friendly and kept up with our table. She happened to overhear us discussing something confusing us on someone’s fried chicken order and immediately cleared up the trouble without us having to say a word. That for a nice evening Joan.

Dehn’s is highly nostalgic for me and I have not been disappointed. I know why my grandparents chose this place for larger family dinners when I was young.
The huge long takes are no longer there, but they can still accommodate a large group with a reservation.
They currently are only open until 2pm, but hoping to go back to dinner service soon.
We have had the breakfast twice now and my favorite is the Farmer’s Breakfast. Give it a try!!!

This place slaps. A great, old-fashioned, greasy spoon breakfast spot. Decor, taste, scenery of yesteryear.
Staff were pleasant and attentive. The doorway is not entirely flat and has a few bumps, and it’s also relatively narrow. Perhaps there is an alternate entrance. Gluten free options a plenty. They even have mimosas and other dranks. Family friendly. Coffee is that good diner type, and they’ll leave a whole carafe for ya

This was the first time I visited the place and the food here is really nice.! I loved the French toast and the hash browns. They were really yummy and we ordered The Cajun, this was not as expected. But over all the food was good.! Restaurant was neat and clean and busy in the morning time around 10.

I don’t like to leave one-star reviews, but after trekking across the metro to Dehn’s, we arrived to find the doors locked 4 hours before their closing time. The kitchen door was open, but the doors locked so I called. The lady said they closed early due to lack of staff. While I understand how difficult finding good help might be, it was terrible to arrive there with two VERY HUNGRY little boys only to find that they were closed I think it would be appropriate for them to at least put something on their website indicating that Dehn’s being closed early is a high likelihood to prevent situations like this in the future. I would have called first had I known they had staffing issues.
