I am extremely disappointed in the food tonight. Asked for medium bacon cheeseburger, regular cheese curds instead of fries and got a well done burger and fried breaded air puffs. My husband got a mushroom Swiss burger and while had what I asked for on it, asked for medium rare and his was well done as well. Cheese curds were breaded air puffs too. Sad thing is we have said nothing but great things for them, recommending to friends and family. Tonight we decided to splurge and get something nice after the downtown trick or treating. This is definitely not worth the $34 I paid for it. Hopefully cook gets figured out because I have a feeling we aren’t the only ones who think this.

This place has gone way downhill. Service is good but the food was not good. Ordered a fresh dip that seemed like the meat was frozen and microwaved and thrown in a bun. Not fresh at all. I chose macaroni and cheese for the side, its literally box Kraft Mac & cheese once again from the microwave. What hapoened?
EDIT: They’ve got one poor person working here at lunch rush cooking, serving, and tending…?? Waited 35 minutes for my check after making this review.

Update from 10/3/25 visit- we haven’t been since the new menu, first visit since. We’d been there 4 or 5 times previously and always good. This was a big disappointment. Starting with the tap spotted cow, its a thick heavy mug that holds maybe 8oz, was $5. Cheese curds went from $7 to $10 dollars. The food was all a lot of $$ for not much and some was cold. Very disappointed. The staff was ok, food was pretty quick to be served.

We are from Texas, we stopped in to have a drink. We noticed the cute little bar on the street. The patio was inviting, they had flowers everywhere and the patio was very clean. Inside the place was very inviting and the owner even offered me a taste of some chicken that he just cooked up on the grill. The bar keeper we super sweet and helpful.
We ordered a basket of fries and they were delicious. If we lived in Deerfield we would definitely make this our regular place for happy hour and yummy eats.

Friday night fish fry. Around 6:00 clock and tables available. Other than fish was the regular menus. It’s Friday, why would you get anything else? Fish was very good and was moist with light batter. Tasted like fish and not greasy batter. Combo of two pieces of fish (Cod or Walley) and 3 large shrimp for $13.00.
Great selection of beer and mixed drinks. Will go back for the lunch specials. Oh, the chairs – you will never find more comfortable chairs anywhere.

We went on a Sunday for lunch. There was only one poor young lady working behind the bar and taking food orders and one cook. We ordered wraps and cheeses curds. You could tell the wraps were premade and once frozen. They were hard and chewy. The cheese curds weren’t cooked all the way through. We couldn’t eat them. The waitress was so sweet, obviously overwhelmed, and kept apologizing. It wasn’t her fault but management needs to take another look at how they cover shifts. I won’t eat there again unfortunately.

Went in for lunch today. Ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with cheese curds. The chicken was so tough, I couldn’t bite through it and it certainly wasn’t grilled. The cheese curds were over cooked and only 2 curds actually had a trace of cheese inside. They were so bad that when I squeezed one, it burst and was just the crisp coating, no cheese. There were only 2 that had cheese in them.

Love the new set up! The new owners that took over as of 2/20/2024 have really transformed the place with just a few more tables, fancy chairs and a new layout. The food we had was delicious. I recommend the cheese curds and onions rings. We also tried the Deerfield club sandwich, hot ham and cheese, patty melt, and cheeseburger. All were great! Will definitely be returning soon.

Ordered the wings. Bit into a non fully cooked one then ripped open the next few to see they were all undercooked. Kitchen tossed in another order for me. Bartender Laura and what seemed to be a manager or maybe owner were very apologetic and friendly the entire time I was there. Well the next order of wings were another failed attempt. I ate the flats first and they were fine. Bit into the first drum and it was undercooked. I didn’t say anything about the second order but left 4 of the drums in my basket. They did comp me the cost of the food. Can’t say I’ll return to try anything else

The new owners opened Feb 24 and are doing a great job. The food is great, and the new bar stools are awesome! The video poker pays out with a combo ATM and Ticket Redemption machine.
