My partner and I just had a lovely evening at The Deep Cove Chalet. When we walked in, we were greeted so kindly by the hostess, who took our coats and walked us to our table.
Our server, Ben, was extremely friendly and took the time to share the heritage of the Chalet with us. Throughout the evening, he also made an effort to get to know us, which made the experience feel very personal.
The ladies working alongside Ben really made the night extra special. They were so kind and gave many compliments on my dress, which honestly made my evening.
Compliments to the chef for the exquisite food, that was some of the best beef tartare we’ve ever had. The Lanessan wine was fantastic as well. A special shout-out to Ernie, the dog, who put a smile on our faces when he sat to enjoy the sunset.
My partner and I left with smiles on our faces and are excited to come back and experience this lovely place all over again. Thank you! <3

I’ve never had anything but an excellent experiance at the Chalet. It is one of the best go-to spots for a true special occasion meal, in my opinion.
For the full experiance, I suggest trying one of their set meals. They are worth every penny, and might push you to try different dishes than if you ordered a la carte. For example, I recently tried rabbit here for the first time after consulting our server, and very much enjoyed it!
Dining at lunch when you have a view of the water is fantastic, though the candle-lir cosiness of their dinners is special in its own way.
A few favourites of mine are the lobster bisque, Chalet Salad, hot prawn and avocado, and the halibut. For drinks, you can’t go wrong with a lemon drop!

Excellent meal.
We got French onion soup, cheese soufle, smoked salmon blini, coq au vin, beef Wellington, the salmon, crème brûlée, and chocolate cake.
No notes except for the salmon. It was a tad overcooked. Potatoes tasted like salt more than potatoes.
Service was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed this meal with my two ladies 😉

We had our staff dinner here this past weekend for the holidays and it was absolutely incredible. The table was beautifully set, the food was unbelievable (as well as the wine). Our server Ben was so incredibly professional and attentive to our whole party’s needs. Truly an extraordinary dining experience for all of us in the most beautiful setting.

The chef, has been there for a long time and he is amazing. Beautiful views, the food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing and I am a returning customer. One of the only places you can get a great bottle of wine on the island – if you miss what the Sooke Harbour House had to offer, this is even better…

I don’t hand out 5-STARS easily…except this time. Hands down one of the BEST restaurants in BC. If you’ve had a bad experience… or diss the food (or service).. they may have been having an off-day, or you were. The DC Chalet offers an unpretensiously elegant ambiance. French /West Coast infused comfort food, on a seaside setting, extraordinaire. 15+ years ago we were last here; and the waiter, 18 years & counting. That says a lot about how the DC Chalet operates. Even the classic “Golden Retriever” was snoozing at the door (well, a different one) but welcoming icon nevertheless. The menu hadn’t changed much, which I love. My “unforgettable”, hearts of palm, stuffed green apple, was still on the menu. (Add to cart!) I couldn’t turn down a good old-fashioned Tenderloin (with red wine reduction), & mashed potatoes. Even the braised carrots wowed me. Something about the French- they really know how to braise to perfection. My Love Biscuit had the Venison and escargot. Both of our tenderloins were perfectly crusted… and buttery…melt in your mouth. We ate so much – they had to roll out the door after dinner. The Wine selection? Perfect. We totally got lucky on the reservation; even being seated at the same table as 15 years ago. Bill was $360 with tip. We both hope to return again very soon. Merci Pierre!! Merci. Chef kisses!

Forty-five years ago my father took me and my new bride to Deep Cove when we were in Victoria on our honeymoon. Since then we have returned for our 30th, 40th anniversaries and again this Saturday for our 45th
All four visits have been memorable with exceptional food and service. A special shout out to the Host and our server Beth who made our 45th extra special.

This restaurant tops the list of restaurants I have enjoyed on Vancouver Island. Tucked away in one of the most beautiful areas on the Island, with an inspiring view of the Pacific Ocean and nestled in the countryside.
The food was impeccable – 4 courses of mastery with an incredible wine list. They say if you can see the water you should eat the fish…and they were right!
The setting is painfully beautiful. Eat outside if the weather participates…there’s nothing like jt

This might be one of the cutest place to go eat on the west coast.
It is really not a cheap restaurant. The food is fantastic, you cannot really go wrong with any plate. The clam chowder is especially good, as well as the venison. They also serve wine from the area, this is a must try.
The service is pretty good, but there were a few mistakes on the plates during the night which were noticeable more than once.
The view you get from the restaurant is also really pretty.
One of the thing I would improve is to provide some sort of fan or AC during the really hot days. Unless you’re eating outside, it can get really hot, especially with the sun in the windows.

What can I say….Dining at this amazing restaurant made my birthday special and memorable. Beautifully decorated room, white tablecloths and expensive dishes and utensils, fresh flowers on every table, well and most importantly… it’s a mind-blowing view. An aesthete like me got a real pleasure, enjoying the delicious cuisine, candles. Everything you need for a romantic atmosphere. I liked that the waiters did not ask unnecessary questions and appeared at the right moment. I will definitely come back to this restaurant again!
