Absolutely an amazing experience! The staff is lovely, warm and welcoming. The vibe is fun and family friendly. We tried a variety of menu items to share and they were all delicious. My friends and I are awaiting our next visit soon. Everything is fresh and full of flavor. Thinking, why did I agree to share? lol

I want to give them more grace because they’ve been up and running for less than a month (I think). The food was really good. We love the mandioca and the torresmo (this especially was one of the best I’ve had). I think the portion sizes for the price is a bit outrageous, but I understand it’s Cape May. I think the service was okay but one young woman who spoke Portuguese saved the experience. Keep it up, your energy has the potential to transform this place into a true boteco. I would say that is what is missing the most. It doesn’t feel Brazilian other than the food. Get some live music, maybe more staff when possible (more Brazilians would be so awesome!) or a solid Boteco playlist with some MBP or Pagode. It takes more than food to transport to the streets of Rio de Janeiro. You’re almost there! Worth a visit though if you’ve never had Brazilian food and want to try it.

Amazing authentic food! I highly recommend the pastel basket with the cheese and beef! The picanha prato entree was incredible with the house made vinaigrette, the bread, and yucca fries were amazing!

It is a shared experience, but the amount of food was plenty, and the price was very comparable!

Truly the best steak in town! All the sides were amazing as well. On Labor Day weekend they were able to accommodate a party of 8 at 7:30 with about an hours notice. If you don’t go here, you are truly missing out on such a gem!

Wow! That was amazing! I have worked in the top notch Steak Houses right outside of New York City all of my life and that Filet Mignon Beef Skewer was the best steak l have ever eaten! I don’t know what he marinated it with but l was smiling with every bite! I am absolutely going back next week to have it again.I can’t say enough about this place and Matthew. He created his own special place and we are lucky enough to get to share it. If l were you l would get there before all of Cape May finds out about this place! 5 stars all the way!! Great job Matthew!

Had a great meal last night in Cape May thanks to Boteco. The inside of the restaurant is charming and rustic, giving off a relaxed vibe with board games. Kid friendly, but we were on a date night to check out the Brazilian bites.

Overall, the food was great, the service extraordinarily friendly, and the ambiance fits Cape Mays relaxed beach environment.

Ordering was interesting, by marking your own table number and quantities.
Not the biggest fan of this method, but not a huge deterrent either.

BYOB with some very appetizing looking non-alcoholic drinks, but we both decided to go for a classic Guaraná. To start we ordered croquette basket, which was chicken coxinha with catupiry, bacalhau, and beef croquette. These were all excellent and possibly the best chicken coxinha I’ve eaten in the states. We also got the sliced bread, similar to garlic bread, but with some other spices, and the fried mandioca. The mandioca was cooked perfectly with a crispy exterior and a creamy smooth inside. Paired with some of the brazilian hot sauce on the table it was a great match.

For our main course we ordered 2 portions of the Saturday special, Feijoada. Served with a modern take on Brazilian vinaigrette on the side. The couve (kale), was not the traditional version sautéed with garlic, but flavored with something like lemon. I am partial to the traditional couve, but this was good too.

To finish off the experience we shared a brigadeiro. Unlike the traditional rolled ball with sprinkles, it was also a modern take, served in a bowl with cream and fruit. The texture was more akin to pudding than a thick brigadeiro, but delicious nonetheless.

Will definitely be returning with friends and our kids in the future.

Went here last night and ordered the steak and chicken skewers, rice & beans, and an after dinner espresso. For starters the skewers were the most flavorful, tender thing i’ve ever had. I didn’t need the chimichurri but it took the skewers to a whole other level. the overall ambiance was laid back and enjoyable. Plenty of games to play while you wait. 10/10 recommend. Definitely brings a whole new cultural vibe to Cape May that you’ll love.

probably one of the best meals I have ever had. the owner and chef is Brazilian. being here brings me back to being on the beaches of Bahia. The atmosphere, the service, the food, everything is great. Really cool to see this come to life. Dont sit inside or buy takeout for dinner. Go with friends and family, listen to music and enjoy some fresh food from good people.
