Burgers were juicy and good, but incredibly small, especially for the price. Fries were also a very small portion. Asking the two working the registers questions about the food shouldn’t have been as frustrating as it was. We happened to stop when it was empty, but could see how tough it would be to get parking. Overall, food was decent, but expensive.

Hey drove from Richmond, VA to get me some whole bellies clams! Anytime I’m in CT I always try to make a stop at DB. Been here for 85 years. Summer outdoor food stand with lots of picnic tables. Can’t get whole bellies down south, least where I am, so always looking tonget some. They are lightly fried with a good batter, always tasty. Another northern thing I moss are clam cakes, so we grabbed a 1/2 dozen of those as well. Back in the day this was a normal hang out spot for some grub or some ice cream. Pretty cool that I’ve gotten my kids to look forward to DB stop anytime we are visiting. Got a pint of clams, clam cakes, a scoop of cookies n cream and a banana split. Staff is always friendly. Food is pretty quick, always hot and tasty. Great New England tradition, always well worth the trip!

Lived in Putnam for 3 years, didn’t know this place existed till now. Menu has a lot of options. I had an Oreo/Coffee ice cream. Ice cream was perfect. Not freezer burnt , good texture, just the right amount of ingredients. Vibe is really good, liked the outside picnic tables. Unfortunately no umbrellas on the tables but there’s plenty of trees for shade. Service was excellent, server took time to explain options,very knowledgeable of menu. Parking is tight but very manageable. I would highly recommend trying Deary Brothers ! I will be coming back !

Food was good. Portion size was right for the price…$6 for fish sandwich. Scallop roll was plentiful but the lobster roll was not. Didn’t care for all the kids in sports cars that just hung around the parking lot and took all the parking spaces

The restaurant offers delicious food and is definitely family-friendly. Nonetheless, during my visit on Tuesday 8/1 at 5 pm with my 2-year-old, we encountered an unsettling welcome. A staff member turned on his motorcycle, sat on it for a few minutes, then left it unattended and running for a while, causing disruption and frightening my daughter due to the loud noise. Hopefully, such incidents can be avoided in the future to ensure a more enjoyable dining experience for families with young children.

If your looking a bite to eat or get ice cream this place offers picnic table outdoor seating. Be prepared for long lines and wait for food however. Finding parking can be a bit difficult at times also so will need to park further away and just walk over. This place has been here for like 2 generations and although they are not the cheapest in food you will save on having to tip large if eating out and getting own server. Kid friendly and kid approved.
