Holy moly guys this place is AMAZING. I’ve never in my life wroten a review before but this place is the best place I’ve EVER been to. It’s a super inclusive space for everyone. Plus the food is AMAZING. I had a slice of there vanilla gluten free cake and it was SO GOOD. also, the baked potato I got was amazing and delicious. If your looking for a cozy safe place to eat some sweet treats or get something in you tummy this is the best 1rst place I would recommend.

The Dear Potato is such a fun place! Talking to the staff, everyone seems happy to be there and are enthusiastic when interacting with customers. Very polite. The decor is phenomenal and the music they have playing is good too. I ordered a custom cake for a friend and they completed it in a timely manner and were very lovely to work with.

Absolutely delicious and mind blowing that most of my meal was vegan! Very flavorful food and amazing desserts. We got the “beef and cheese” piroshki, the Seattle dog, and the garlic cheddar biscuit. Everything was delicious! You don’t want to miss out on this place. Also ordered a disco cookie and it was so sweet and the edible glitter was just an extra special little touch. Great service and awesome decorating. I appreciated the Wall to Dolly.
UPDATE: We ordered a cake from them and instead we got a work of art! They were able to accommodate our ridiculous food allergies and make a vegan gluten free masterpiece. Usually gluten free and vegan tends to run dry, but this cake was so rich and delicious. Everyone who ate it was commenting on how amazing it was. It was worth every penny.

Dear Potato is awesome!! So glad we found this little bakery in Helena. Many vegan and vegetarian foods and baked goods. We ordered soups and various sweet and savory foods, and everything was delicious and unique. Staff was friendly, place was cute and funky. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

The cozy interior, with its charming pink chairs and eclectic decor, immediately made me feel at home. The large round braided bread and the variety of vegetarian piroshki were delicious and freshly baked. The bakery also offers a great selection of cakes and cookies that are perfect for any sweet tooth. The friendly atmosphere and unique touches, like the purple couch with the long snake plushie, make it a must-visit spot. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat!

This was my first time visiting this establishment. I love the atmosphere.The food and the service. I saw a generosity and kindness coming from the staff towards unhoused persons. And I just thought of how very hard that is in a city that mostly rejects the unhoused. Best place.I’ve been to in a very long time!

Everything about this place is nothing short of fabulous! I have only been able to make one visit so far, but I fell in love at the first bite of the most flavorful, perfect borscht I’ve ever tasted, and the “Nacho Pig” piroshki with cashew cheese, black beans, and corn was delightful. The cashew cheese have it such a unique flavor that paired flawlessly with the other flavors, and the breading was the most perfect, soft texture. Try dunking it in the borscht, you will not be disappointed! And to top it off…the pineapple upside down cake… what a completely divine delicacy! I have literally dreamt about that cake since my visit! Everything was incredibly fresh. They have a wonderful variety of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free foods so there’s something for everyone’s dietary needs/preferences. I admit, I have not had great experiences with vegan food in the past, but this place has totally flipped the script for me! They know how to do it right! The atmosphere and decor is different than any other eating establishment in Helena, in the best way. It’s so fun and there’s so much cool stuff to look at. They honestly have the coolest, and one of the cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen in a public place. It gave disco roller rink vibes! And lastly, the staff were so sweet and friendly and you can tell it’s a fun, yet professional work environment. I cannot wait to go back! I want to try one of everything! I would love if they eventually expand to be open Saturdays. Dear Potato, welcome to Helena! I hope you’ll be here for a very long time! We needed a place like this!

I say this as a hard-core carnivore: this vegetarian place was so good, I’d travel from Missoula just to eat here. Their piroshies are authentic enough my Ukrainian wife said they reminded her of her childhood. Bunch of flavors. The three we had were perfectly executed. I VERY rarely leave reviews, but seriously…this place was awesome. Try it. You’ll thank me.

I walked past this place when I was in Helena for a day and initially skipped it because it wasn’t sure if it was open. I went back and I’m so glad I did!!
Amazing spot for piroshky and cakes and pastries. I got the potato and cheese piroshky and they were incredible – great filling and not too doughy for the roll. The inside is very quirky with lots of pictures and fun decorations. I am honestly still dreaming about the piroshky!
