We had a fantastic evening at Dean’s Steak & Seafood in Indianapolis. From the moment we arrived, the hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming, setting the tone for a great night right away.

We started with oysters on the half shell, which were absolutely exquisite. At our wonderful server Alisha’s recommendation, we ordered the tableside lobster bisque and the wedge salad—both were outstanding and a must-try.

For entrées, we chose the sea bass and the steak. Simply put, perfection. The steak needed nothing—tender, flavorful, and truly melt-in-your-mouth amazing. We added the onion rings as a side and wow… hands down some of the best we’ve had.

To finish the evening, Alisha suggested Grandma’s bread pudding, and it was the perfect dessert to end the meal—warm, comforting, and delicious.

Don’t miss out on this place—make your reservation early. Dean’s delivers on every level: service, atmosphere, and incredible food.

We went for a business dinner and overall had a very good experience.
The food was excellent. The seafood dishes were fresh and flavorful, and the steaks were outstanding. The quality of the meat was excellent — nothing to complain about there.
We only had two small disappointments. One steak was ordered blue rare, Pittsburgh style, but it arrived more cooked than expected. My colleague chose not to send it back because he didn’t want to waste the meat, but he was a bit disappointed with the doneness.
We also had to wait for our table at the bar. The bar service itself was quick and efficient. However, the welcome at the bar felt somewhat standard. Not unfriendly, but there wasn’t much warmth or smiles in the interaction.
Overall, a very solid experience with excellent food, and we would definitely consider coming back.

Absolutely wonderful first experience with our server, Katie! Perfect bread service, cocktails, and good starters. The honey truffle chicken with roasted carrots and steaks were delicious! Unfortunately, we ate so much that we didn’t have room for dessert but they looked so good. The service was truly unmatched with coat check, parking validation, and kind staff making sure we had everything we needed. This is a great upscale addition to our downtown!

My wife and I came here for a date night and we were blown away by the amount of care and detail was put into every aspect of this restaurant. Our waitress Katie made us feel at home. She even did some research on fun activities to do afterwards. Everyone there was paying attention to tables and helping out. Everyone was genuine! The food was out of this world. My wife said the Filet mignon was the best steak she has ever had. The food left you feeling light but full and satisfied. Such amazing quality, we gained joy and energy from it. Each bite was worth savoring. The atmosphere was calm and dark out low light. Very elegant and extremely clean. We cannot wait to keep coming back! Thank you for such an incredible experience and the best meals of our lives!
also have great deals for when you spend a certain amount you get money to use on your next meal!

We had an incredible experience here! The ambiance was fantastic – didn’t feel like a hotel restaurant at all. The espresso martini is one of the BEST in the city! Our server, Ken was fantastic and very attentive. The steaks were cooked to perfection- we had the filet. Definitely recommend the mushrooms as a side. And of course we had to finish with dessert and the pecan bread pudding was to DIE FOR! We will definitely be back

We had such an amazing experience here, and it was truly all thanks to our waitress, Cassandra! She was absolutely incredible always checking on us, super attentive, and gave us perfect recommendations for the food.
We’re very detail-oriented and asked a lot of questions, and Cassandra was patient, knowledgeable, and made everything feel so smooth, easy, and fun. She was always right there when we needed her, without ever being intrusive.
Our date night honestly would not have been the same without her. The food was amazing (Mac, oysters, salmon, drinks, and everything was ), and the entire experience was elevated because of her service.
If you go here, definitely request Cassandra I would genuinely only come back to eat here if she were our server again. Such a wonderful experience from start to finish!

Let me preface this by saying, my mother and I went to Dean’s to celebrate her birthday and I’ll be frank the staff… absolutely phenomenal! The valet, host’s/ hostesses were so kind and inviting. We had the pleasure of having Tiffany walk us to our table, she radiated kindness and compassion with ease. In addition to this our server was Damani, and well I’ll just say the service…absolutely wondrous! Never in my LIFE have I ever had service that impeccable and detailed. He was very knowledgeable of menu items and went into detail on specifically what is in each dish while simultaneously taking into account my dietary restrictions and suggesting modifications accordingly but most importantly, the number one thing he did that stood out to me was how special he made my mom feel on her birthday. If you get a chance to stop by definitely request him as your server! Oh and I almost forgot to mention the 2 server assistants that helped us out as well by constantly filling our waters and making sure we were catered to.

Now onto the drinks and food. Drinks were lovely, mom LOVVVED the French 75. Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc was delightful as well. For Starter’s we tried the Hot honey truffle burrata, wedge salad, and Rockefeller oysters. The burrata and oysters were amazing and flavorful. However we were not huge fans of the wedge salad it was fresh however just a tad to acidic for my liking, I believe they pickle the other veggies on top of the salad that could be the reason. We swapped it out for the French onion soup and boyyy were we pleased! They even give you a handy dandy pair of scissors to cut through the cheese. Such a cute, yet necessary touch. As for entrees we ordered the 8oz Filet, Truffle Bucatini, and a side of mash potatoes. Filet (Mid- well) was a solid 7.5/10 just with it was cooked a tad bit under however the truffle butter accompanied with it definitely helped. As for the truffle bucatini Uugh we wanted to love this dish so bad, the flavor profile was rich, garlicky, and aromatic. Unfortunately, we could not get over the texture of the bucatini. I understand it’s meant to be a thicker noodle however it felt as if there were parts of the noodle that were undercooked.
Lastly for dessert Damani recommended the baked alaska and that was truly the cherry on top of an already splendid evening, very decadent and rich. The Bourbon chocolate they pour on top is to d!e for! Also specifically shout out to the kind gentleman (I can’t remember his name, apologies) who was kind enough to take photos for my mom and I, you really came in clutch at that moment. If you made it to the end of this review shout out to you, trooper! But seriously all in all this was an amazing experience, thank you all to the lovely souls who played a part in making my mother feel wonderful on her special day!

I can’t recommend Dean’s enough! Truly exceptional steakhouse in Indianapolis. Started off with an oyster martini at the bar, then headed to the table for the meal of a lifetime. The Salmon Wellington was a delicious option for the non-beef eaters. My bone-in strip was impeccable. 10/10 experience and the atmosphere cannot be beat. Can’t wait to come back!

Sidenote: I asked the manager for a tour and got to see the private dining room. WOW! I will be having my next private event there if I can.

Thought we would try out the new steakhouse at the JW. Dean’s steakhouse come with really high rating so we were excited to go. From the moment you park your car you felt this was going to be good. The apps and steak didn’t disappoint. Our server Gerald was very informative and entertaining.

Update: We went back again and sat at the bar this time. The lady was very helpful in us picking out our meal and wine to go with it. We thought we would try something else besides the steaks. We got the Truffled Bucatini with grilled shrimp and the Pan Roasted Baja Bass. Both dishes were very good but if I had to choose, I would probably have the Bucatini again.
