This was our second visit to Dean’s Italian Steakhouse. Our first visit was great. It wasn’t perfect, but we still would have gladly came back for another visit.

The ambiance here is very high-class and formal. Wait staff being outfitted in matching uniforms led us to expect top notch service. We were seated at 7:30. Enjoyed a nice bar service—martinis were excellent, wine was excellent. Then we waited. For 30 minutes we waited. Parker house rolls and clarified butter hit the table at around 8:30 Then we ordered our meals. Party of four. Steaks all around with various crowns and a few sides. Then we waited. And we waited. A two topper that sat after us flipped and still, we waited. We waited so long we thought they forgot about us. Finally our food comes out at 9:35-9:45! Restaurant did not seem to be extremely busy as there were several empty tables. Our food arrives and 3 of our 4 steaks were undercooked. At this point it’s 9:45 and none of us dared send anything back lest our dinner morph into breakfast. We saw one neighboring table send a plate back and she ended up eating after her friends were just about done with their meals. Our sides: creamed spinach was excellent. Mac and cheese was good. Mashed potatoes were velvety smooth and very tasty. Service…not so smooth unfortunately and for the money it needs to be smooth as silk because you will certainly be paying a premium price to dine here. Bill for our Party of 4 with one round of bar service (no dessert or coffee) was $500. Didn’t order dessert because we didn’t want to wait any longer. This is a very nice restaurant but we left feeling underwhelmed and not overly impressed because of the service and undercooked steaks. I recommend ordering your steaks one temp above your desired temp.

Such a good spot for dinner. We are staying at the JW and decided to venture downstairs for dinner and I’m so glad we did. The gnocchi was amazing. Pillow soft. Steak was made to perfection and broccoli was a nice side with the aioli.

New York Strip was very salty. Not really medium as we asked. In general, I would not order it again. Quality/price ratio is low. Service was great (thanks to Chris). He presented a free pie to my wife when she had a birthday. Atmosphere was like in a hotel’s lobby. Lots of people in suits had business dinners.

Seated near open kitchen, which we did not care for. I am not sure why this design is so popular now. It was very noisy and loud, tables packed in uncomfortably close. The service was very good. Bread was light, airy, and delicious. Oysters were very tasty. Lobster bisque was an odd greyish brown color with one lobster chunk in it and had an odd flavor. Ceasar salad was ok. Tomahawk pork chop and polenta was thoroughly enjoyed by my husband. Shrimp and pasta dish was amazing, one of the best I have ever had. Homemade pasta and spicy sauce could not have been better. We did enjoy our dinner very much. I would suggest asking for a table away from the kitchen for a more enjoyable experience. There is a counter area available for quick informal bites as well. I read reviews, and I think I was expecting too much. 4.9 rating was a little inflated in my opinion.

We visited for the 1st time on Father’s Day & it is a really nice restuarant. The menu is full but take note there are no kids menus or really much to choose for a child (except maybe the Mac n cheese, so please keep that in mind). Speaking of which, the Mac was pretty tasty. It was more of an alfredo taste to me with lots of cheese & breadcrumbs added to the top. The bread that they bring to the table was delicious! It was freshly baked & super buttery and tasted like a croissant. The wagyu meatballs I expected to be better than they were, they tasted like normal spaghetti meatballs…nothing too extraordinary. I had the salmon, which was tender. The broccolini was seasoned great & were cooked perfectly. My husband had the NY strip, butterflied & loved it. The prices are a bit expensive but you do get what you pay for.

Very mixed feelings about this place. If the review was solely based on the Branzino…5 stars..it was amazing. Other than that, was nothing really special about the other menu items. The options for salad were not at all great. The sides were things you could expect at any new American restaurant or steakhouse. The $20 potato was far from a good value. You could barely taste the truffle and the inside of the potato tasted like any twice baked potato. The host was rude and our server was cold. If other restaurants were opened at the hour my colleague and I went, we likely would’ve went somewhere else. The decor was nice. It was proximal to our hotel. The fish was great. Wouldn’t be back. If it’s considered “fine dining” it should feel like a great experience from start to finish…and Dean’s didn’t at all deliver.

James made our girls night special – water refills, blue cheese olives, all the questions, all the right answers. Get the Tartare (so many yummy HUGE capers, and an egg yolk to mix in), scallops and the espresso martini – unreal. xoxo thank you Dean’s!

This was our first visit to Dean’s and we had the pleasure of having Wilson as our waiter. From the front end to the dessert was an impeccable experience to say the least. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dean’s Italian steakhouse to anyone and even moreso our waiter Wilson. Thank you for a wonderful experience we will never forget!

Mechelle was a great server to my wife and I! I got the Italian sausage hash for breakfast and it was delicious. Dean’s is an incredible restaurant whether you are going for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is probably one of the nicest restaurants in Uptown and the food never disappoints! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and I would highly recommend Mechelle as a server as well.
