My husband and I were having dinner and a movie at home. Dinner was a disaster we ordered 3 meals to share. Smoked Wings (sauce on the side), Mac N Cheese, Brisket with fries. And a Mac N cheese meal that came with brisket in it. I also ordered a side of the cornbread. The wings looked they had been fried without breading, not smoked and had no smoked flavor. They were huge steroid looking wings (which I hate). I assume the sauce covers up the lack of smoked flavor for others. The brisket wasn’t any better in flavor (tender yes) almost as if boiled first, I could be wrong. Either way we didn’t like any of the food and wasted $70 because it all went to the trash. People are visual, so here is a photo of the cornbread I was sold. I can’t believe whoever boxed it would allow it to leave the restaurant with a customer. It should have been trashed the minute it came out of the oven burnt.
The staff is friendly, polite, respectful.
Would come again. Loved my experience here!
They brought huge plate of small shoestring like fries, not super crispy, which is my preference and not dripping with grease. There was no ketchup on the table.
The pulled pork was tender and good but without any sauce. The original server came back as I was almost done. I asked for BBQ sauce, ketchup, and sweetener for my tea. She brought a small container of sauce and an unmarked bottle of ketchup, which I guess is also homemade. It was the consistency of applesauce. She also brought another glass of iced tea and apologized that she had gotten busy with other guests. I asked for to-go containers and the check. She brought 2 brown cardbard containers that needed to be folded. Nothing for the dip. I again asked for a container, specifically for the dip, which she brought a round plastic container.
Prices: dip $10, hand cut fries $6, 1/2# of pulled pork $8, tea $2.25. With tip, it was just over $31. Granted, I made another meal from the leftover, and it was surely good. I will return and know to request ketchup and sauce the next time.
We asked about their brunch because there isn’t a posted menu and the waitress shared it with us. We will without a doubt be back!
Others at my table had a few Mac n cheese variations all of the said were really good. Would like to go back to try their Bread Pudding. They do make a lot of things in house down to the ketchup & some of the syrups used in their cocktails. If you haven’t been yet, put Dean’s on your list of places to eat!
