Deanie’s was highly recommended by my family and friends. I’m so glad I came. The atmosphere was wonderful! The food was delicious, and my server Ursula was excellent! She gave exemplary customer service! She truly took care of me and she was very attentive, and fabulous!

Been dining at Deanie’s for almost 10 years now and it never disappoints. While driving back home to NC I had a craving for some oysters and luckily the Courtyard I was staying at was directly across the street.

I ordered a dozen charbroiled oysters, onion rings, and a few shots of cognac. The appetizer of onion rings came out with a healthy portion and the oysters were perfect!!!

I always enjoy the restaurant’s diner aesthetic mixed with French quarter charm. It was late on a Monday evening so there weren’t a lot of people dining in. I was able to walk in with no wait. I wish I would’ve asked the bartender for her name to put in this review because she was so kind and professional! Overall 10/10.

We had an incredible family late lunch at Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant in the French Quarter! After researching many places, I am so glad we chose this one, it truly is the best balance of taste, quality, and cost in the area.

We ordered the Combo Dinner, Caesar and House salads, and topped it off with the Strawberry Cheesecake and Coconut Custard Bread Pudding. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous.

What really stood out was the service. Our server was excellent, attentive and proactive without being overbearing. He checked in to make sure we were doing well but never made us feel rushed. Plus, the food came out incredibly fast despite how hard everyone was working. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic flavor and great value!

Came here on Lundi Gras for valentines dinner after all my first time parade action on Saturday and I was so disappointed to see the potential satisfaction and happiness I would’ve have had pass me by if the bartender had not given me two peoples orders TWICE before mine came out. Each time the servers would come with well done oysters and seeing what I specifically asked for come out HOW I ORDERED IT and not to have for already eating and settling for what was brought to me really pissed me off.
Now I know to refuse the plates if they don’t look exactly how I want them… KNOWING DAM WELL ITS POSSIBLE to have exactly what I want…
Everything else was good (especially the flatbread that didn’t make it to pictures) besides the bartender messing up my well done oyster dreams.

Firstly Deanie’s came highly recommended by a friend who flies to New Orleans twice a year to eat here multiple times per trip.

And boy oh boy it did not disappoint. Deanie’s is a slightly retro looking casual establishment, but there is nothing casual about the food and service.

Our server Champion was a real Champion, no misnomers here. He helped us through the menu and advised on portion sizes (tl;dr they are BIG).

The gumbo and crawfish bisque were out of this world, as were the tomato based dips that came with the calamari and fresh oysters. The other dishes were good, but not out of the ordinary good.

Can’t wait for the next opportunity to dine here.

New Orleans loves its seafood and Deanies delivers! We got the giant seafood platter to split between 2 hefty men and we couldn’t finish it! Twice the price of a typical captain platter with 3 times the food. Crayfish balls were outstanding. Scallops, catfish and shrimp were top notch. It was my first exposure to soft shell crabs and it didn’t disappoint. I came to New Orleans as a bucket list thing, we New Englanders love fried seafood and this is some of the best I have had anywhere in the country. If I return to New Orleans again, this is a must stop again for me. Waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Love this place!

Hands down my favorite meal in Nola. Our bartender Hunter was an absolute delight and gave us the best service I’ve had in forever. She gave us so many amazing recommendations and she was so nice to chat with. Also the ART DECO of this building.

Happy hour is when we came in— half off excellent charbroiled oysters that were so delicious. We also have the crab and shrimp dip which is so good with the lemon. The drinks are also cheap and well-made. I have nothing but good things to say about this place!

P.S. I took a photo of someone else’s Bloody Mary but it looked amazing.

My hotel concierge recommended Deanie’s and he was not wrong!! Robert was amazing. Some great customer service here. Love the training as it shows with both Rob and Lyndsey as they both made sure I was good constantly and if I needed anything. How do you go wrong with great food, service, ambiance and music. Cannot wait to return.

10/10 experience. I came here one time about 15 years ago and was finally able to return. It exceeded all my expectations. The service was wonderful. Our beautiful waitress Rennelle was so sweet, attentive, and talked my husband into trying something new which he LOVED. The atmosphere was wonderful. & of course the food was incredible.

Although Deanie’s and Hot N Juicy Cajun are right across from each other, they’re actually very different restaurants. Deanie’s is much more of a traditional American seafood restaurant, not a Cajun seafood boil place.

But if you’re visiting New Orleans, this is definitely a spot you should try. My top recommendation is their gumbo, it’s actually the BEST gumbo I had during my entire trip in New Orleans.

Second, you absolutely have to try their shrimp. The shrimp come with the heads on, so you pull the head off yourself, and then dip the shrimp, along with their French bread or their potatoes, into the shrimp sauce. It’s incredibly delicious.

Lastly, their Seafood Platter is excellent. You don’t have to get it fried; you can also order it boiled, which is another great way to enjoy it.

Overall, I think this is a must-try restaurant. Even if the wait is an hour, it’s absolutely worth it.
