As someone who has been a barista for a bit, whenever I am away from home I am always looking for a good coffee shop. Dead Low truly never disappoints when I’m visiting the area! The baristas are consistently welcoming, kind, and really talented and knowledgeable at what they do!! Coffee is truly some of the best I’ve ever had. The food is also to die for!! I’ll never get over their musubi. Cute little seating area in the back and always such good music playing. If you’re in the area you have to go!!

We stopped by Dead Low Café as our first stop before hitting the beach, and it turned out to be a cozy little gem. The food was solid across the board, but the standout for most of us, was the avocado sandwich with beets; fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly satisfying. I had the chia pudding, which I really enjoyed. It had a nice balance of fruit and granola, though a touch more of each would’ve taken it to the next level.

My son went for the BEC sandwich and gave it a big thumbs up. One friend tried the matcha latte but wasn’t too impressed…it seemed to be missing that bold, earthy matcha kick. Another friend had the salmon bagel and liked it, so overall, we had a good mix of hits.

Thankfully, there was no long line when we arrived, which made the experience even better. The space itself is small and intimate, with just a couple of tables tucked in the back and a few more out front. It’s the kind of spot that feels laid-back and local, perfect for a quick bite before a beach day.

The long line out the door and around the corner is worth standing in! Wow! We are vacationing and we’re so impressed with their morning drinks! We even got an açaí bowl that was heavenly. We had planned to grab breakfast elsewhere, but by the looks of it, their sandwiches would have been amazing!! A great stop on your morning walk for sure!

Chill vibe. I was willing to try something new, but I wasn’t a fan of the bean sprouts on a bagel. Coffee was good. There are picnic tables outside next to the trash cans.

Death Low Café totally nailed my go-to drink—a flat white—and I was genuinely impressed. The coffee was superb, easily one of the best I had on the trip. The staff were super friendly, and the café has a great laid-back vibe right by the beach. They also serve a light brunch, which was perfect for a quick and easy bite. If you’re at Folly Beach, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

This is a cute coffee and breakfast spot in Folly Beach. It has limited indoor and outdoor seating.

I had the B.E.C. Which is soft scrambled egg, garlic aioli, gochujang ketchup, bacon, hash brown, and government cheese (American cheese) on an everything bagel. There are a lot of complex flavors that go well with together. Despite there being so many things on the sandwich it was quite tasty.

My wife had the salmon bagel which has smoked salmon, smoked salmon, dill, cucumber, dill, cucumber, heirloom tomato, sprouts, sprouts, Cape Cod potato chips on everything bagel. She said that it was definitely a different taste and was fresh tasting.

The B.E.C. was $13.50 and the salmon bagel was $12. It seems a little pricey which is why I only gave 4 stars.

Dead Low is how I start every morning..hands down the best coffee around. The food is pure perfection be it fresh made sweets or the B.E.C.! My favorite part about Dead Low is the staff truly an amazing group of people who are always there to brighten your day. This coffee shop is the anchor to the surf community on Folly Beach. Truly a gem of a hang spot!

Very inviting and down to earth atmosphere; from the service when I arrived to the food was an amazing experience! The staff were so sweet, they really make you feel like a local and provided great recommendations. I always support small businesses and this is why, you don’t get the kind of food or service they provide. The kitchen crew really knows and cares about what they’re making. Get the avocado toast; it was one of best I’ve ever had!

Loved it so much we came back for breakfast the next day too! Perfect breakfast sandwich, the hash brown on it was a great addition! Coffee was exactly as we hoped. Fresh and generously portioned.
