Terrible restaurant!!! If you have all day to wait for an overpriced day-old tasteless hunk of baked dough put on a coat and walk to the corner of 11th and Bay because if you drive, YOU WILL NOT FIND A PLACE TO PARK!!!! The employees park their cars in all of the closest spots and so does their company van. Today, their van and delivery trucks blocked the entire street for at least 15-20 minutes preventing about 100 neighbors from getting to work and school. The name is perfect, this place really is a DEAD END!

First time: 11 assorted bagels, 2 special muffins, one large choc chip cookie.
Second time: 11 assorted bagels (2 red and green braided Christmas motif) and one surprise chicken pot pie in a great pastry shell. Fed 2 for lunch.
We had all the kids in and they loved the assortment, size, and quality of all the items.
Seriously a lot for 7.99.
More than expected and my wife and I just freeze half for later.

It’s a real shame they can’t figure out how to efficiently make/serve food because the bagels and coffee are awesome! The wait times are an absolute joke. Went in mid February and literally waited 35 minutes for a single breakfast sandwich that we had to ask if it was ready yet, multiple times, as customer after customer, walked in, placed order, got food and left before we got ours… Breakfast sandwich was like a 4/10, the bagels and coffee are awesome, just make sure you don’t have any plans because you’re gonna be there waiting for your food all day

Best Breakfast & lunch option in Ocean City. I got the Jersey hangover on the Cheddar Jalepeno bagel. AMAZING. My husband got the crabby grilled cheese & loved it as well. The wait was typical for a Sunday morning I believe. Absolutely worth it though. The bagel was so fresh & the pork roll was perfect.

My boyfriend & I would get the bagels from here all the time about 2 years ago & have always loved them. The service was usually quick unless it was busy in the summer but the wait was never super long. Lately, since the beginning of this summer till now, the service has gone horrible. The bagel sandwiches are made all messy, fall apart, they give uncooked looking bacon, the eggs aren’t even neat on the bread. The avocado’s were brown today, and my bacon was burnt. The app tells you a time it’s done and whenever I go to pick my order up, it’s not even on the shelf. I’ll wait an additional 20 minutes it still won’t be done yet. The workers seem to be moving at a slow pace. It sucks because it used to be so good.

Food is good, but not worth the 2-3 hours you will have to wait for it. Ordered online and the wait time was 90 minutes, that was a lie. While waiting the additional time in the store people were told a wait time of 45 minutes, which was not at all true. Order from here if you have nothing else to do today and aren’t hungry yet.

We recently moved from Houston and tried Deadend Backhouse for bagels and coffee — what a find. Their bagels are enormous, baked fresh, and perfectly soft inside; I’ve never tasted bagels this good. The coffee was strong and exactly what we wanted. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality and friendly service we received. In a busy resort town like Ocean City, you might expect long lines, but the efficient service made the experience seamless. Highly recommend Deadend Backhouse if you’re in the area.

We initially went here last year to grab bagel sandwiches on our way home from OCNJ. We were so excited to get back this year, it was our first stop on the island!
The food is phenomenal! The Freshest Bagels Ever!!!! Delicious combinations of different cream cheese spreads. My favorite is the bacon and scallion!
But ultimately the MOST DELICIOUS SANDWICH IS……( of course in my humble opinion) Bacon Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel! It is a masterpiece!
And the coffees…delightful!
The flavored lemonade.. Refreshing and the ultimate treat.
My recommendation would be the hibiscus lemonade.
So I will encourage anyone going to OCNJ. You must make this a priority to go to.
And the staff is so friendly and full of knowledge!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It used to be my favorite breakfast place on the island and I’ve given it a few more tries this summer but the business has totally gone down the drain. The breakfast sandwiches are HORRIBLE. They all fall apart every time you pick them up and the smoked salmon in the salmon avocado toast has a bad taste. The bread and pastries are completely dry and clearly sit out for days. There’s also constantly a ton of flies in that place which grosses me out and the other day I saw a rat coming out of the back door on 11th street. Yuck!
Lastly, I think they gave me bad smoked salmon because it got me completely sick for the next 2 days. Worst breakfast spot on the Island. They were much better when they had the Mike Fitzik involved. Will never go back.
