A great way to end a day with your coworkers. Pulling the name out of the hat and got an amazing restaurant. Having a meal that has been elevated to a new level. Flavorful, with a little kick of spice, which makes it perfectly seasoned. The cornbread is amazing. Highly recommend you get that even as a starter, too some home for later as well. If you like devil eggs, you will love Deacon’s take on them. Have a cocktail go outside your comfort zone, you will be happy you did. Don’t forget about dessert, even if you take it to go. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. In my opinion cozy. Super glad I had the opportunity to have a fabulous meal here. The staff is amazing as well. Nice and pleasant welcoming you in, like family.

Absolutely random find in Nashville. Super underrated amazing place! We went two nights in a row and it did not disappoint. Chef Matt came up to our table several times, food and service top notch. And do explore the decor, really cool building. Definitely worth checking out and experiencing! We ordered way too much, ate it all and failed to take photos. Must come back for round 3!

Deacon’s steakhouse, under the same ownership as Pucketts, offers dry aged steaks and oysters as their specialties. Steaks are dry-aged in house and were limited in availability. The overall experience was nice but I wouldnt say it offers an exceptional experience over competitors in the same price range. Our group primarily ordered oysters and bone-in ribeyes. The food quality appeared great. The oysters were fresh and the steaks were cooked exactly to order. There were two dessert options not on the menu: (bread pudding, crème brûlée).

Visited with some coworkers for a celebratory dinner…
The positives: Deacon’s cornbread appetizer. Highly recommend

The negatives: The 1hr+ wait for our food.
The mushrooms which tasted like straight wine – not what I want when I order mushrooms.
The Mac n cheese which had zero cheese or flavor?? It was pasta noodles with a dash of butter.
The undercooked steaks (everyone’s was undercooked based on how they were ordered)
The bland carrots.

Overall, when we spent $1000+ for our party of 6 to have dinner, I expected better. Very disappointed and I will not be returning

We were very excited for our first visit Deacons as we saw a local food review with very positive results. Our food though, wasn’t even good for an Olive Garde. Pasta undercooked, Chicken was tough as if it was fast defrosted, collard greens were overcooked and over seasoned BUT the cornbread and crab cake was delicious. I wasn’t brave enough to pay for the dry aged steak, I did want to taste it, but the smallest cut was still $78. I’m glad now, based on the other items…I’d probably be disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this place. It was a great and friendly service, great atmosphere.

Had a reservation for 3 people @6pm we arrived 15 minutes early being a Friday night in Nashville. We were promptly greeted and sat. We ordered oysters on the half shell, Prime Rib, Mac and Cheese, Shaved Brussels and Mashed Potatoes which was plenty for all 3 of us. We had Great service. We were greeted with a smile and knowledge of menu. Food came out hot and timely. Absolutely delicious Prime Rib.

My wife and I ordered the following items:

Bison Delmonico – 8/10 – it was really good. Cooked correctly.

Broccolini – 10/10 the best broccolini I think you could possibly have. I didn’t even know it could taste this great. Perfect seasoning, cook, portion size, and good price.

Steak Frites 9/10 – really good seasoning, cooked correctly and a nice portion size.

Mussels – 9/10 – we eat Mussels at a lot of restaurants and they are or 2nd favorite so far.

Crawfish etouffee – this is an add on item for steak and I thought it was really delicious. It is a sauce consistency, but a really great flavor.

Second visit here. We were trying to decide where to eat dinner prior to a concert at the Ryman and we made reservations here tonight. Our first time my ribeye was undercooked raw and the waitress agreed with me and she had them make me another and I was appreciative. So I was hesitant to come back but we gave them another shot. Unfortunately the same thing happened. The service was great! Waitress was very nice and attentive. We ordered the bone marrow appetizer and it was delicious! But unfortunately my ribeye was half raw and half medium rare which I ordered. I was very disappointed as it is now the second time in a row being here where it happened. The waitress could tell I was likely not happy with it but at that point I no longer cared cause I knew I wouldn’t be back since that’s twice they’ve under cooked my steak. I ended up just eating the half that was cooked properly. when our waitress took my plate she could see the raw steak left behind. Not her fault at all. But unfortunately after coming back a second time and having a very undercooked steak it is now my last time here. The ambiance is great and so is the staff but paying for such an expensive steak just to have it undercooked twice in a row is unfortunate.

Warm spinach salad with a 22 oz bone in ribeye was top notch. The cocktails were excellent and all of the wait staff were so attentive. Definitely a great find in Nashville!

Deacon’s has officially ended my chase for the perfect steak. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere blends upscale elegance with a warm Nashville charm that makes you feel right at home. The steak—perfectly aged, seasoned, and cooked to absolute precision—was hands down the best I’ve had, and that’s coming from someone always chasing the next great cut. Each bite was rich, tender, and packed with flavor that proves Deacon’s knows exactly what they’re doing. The service was attentive without being overbearing, adding to an already exceptional dining experience. If you’re in Nashville and chasing a truly unforgettable steak, the chase ends at Deacon’s.
