Wonderful gluten free vegan impossible beef Picadillo! This menu has lots of vegetarian options and the plant based selection was delicious. I really appreciated how the menu was marked for my wheat allergy. The happy hour specials were great. We heard they have monthly salsa dancing and we are excited to try!

Came here on a Wednesday night, there was plenty of parking spots available (behind the building) and open tables. We made a reservation for our group and didn’t have to wait. The server was very kind and the food was delicious. Good portion sized and the drinks were really good as well. Would totally recommend.

My mom & ℹ decided to try this place out , I’ve had Puerto Rican food before but my mom hasn’t and she wanted to try it out, she loved her BISTEC sandwich and I had the TRIPLETA SANDWICH, but we started off with the RICAN NACHOS which was very tasty ( I’m taking those home ) the beer was definitely light, maybe next time find another selection. But this was definitely a good spot to go to.

The restaurant itself is attractive and well maintained; however, our overall experience was disappointing. We ordered empanadas, along with the Bistec and Pollo a la Parrilla sandwiches, and unfortunately all of the proteins were dry and lacked flavor. The only redeeming aspect of the meal was the selection of sauces available at the table.
Additionally, we encountered an unprofessional situation with our server. When we asked for change from a twenty-dollar bill in order to leave a tip, the server took it upon herself to keep a portion as a tip before returning the change. This was inappropriate and ultimately resulted in a smaller tip than we would have otherwise left.
Due to the quality of the food and the service experience, we do not plan to return.

We went as a party of 4 at 5 pm on a Friday with no reservation and were able to get a table right away. I ordered the Trifongo with camarones al ajillo and was totally surprised. It was my first time trying Puertorican food and I was amazed with the flavor and the portions. It was full of flavor and had me feeling completely full after eating about half of it. I also tried a bit of the grilled chicken, also amazing and full of flavor.
I’m definitely coming back to eat here again and try other variations of the trifongo, as well as other dishes from their menu.
I completely recommend this restaurant to anyone no matter if they have tried Puertorican food or not.
Service was also really great, the waitress came by a couple of times to make sure we were satisfied and had everything we needed.

I went to dinner at the Rican Chef in Norfolk, VA, hoping it would be as good as the one in Holland that I’ve visited several times. As a Puerto Rican and a cook myself, I know how our food is supposed to taste, so I was excited to try out this new location. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed.For appetizers, I ordered the alcapurrias, relleno de papa, and fried yuca. The relleno de papa was greasy with barely any potato and had no flavor. The alcapurrias also lacked flavor. The only good item was the yuca fries.My entrée was steak with onions, rice with gandules, and tostones. The rice was dry and hard, the steak was gray and chewy, and the tostones tasted like they came straight from a frozen bag and were simply fried. Overall, it was a bad experience and service, presentation was also horrible. I will not return or recommend this location.

Loud and busy but thats what you should expect at a Puerto Rican restaurant. The food was fresh and filling. The bartender was attentive and quick especially since he was by himself. Polite but straight to the point and I respect that. The food had such rich and authentic Puerto Rican flavors. I am absolutely coming back but with tons of friends. Great job and thank you.

I love the Rican Chef Restaurant I have no negative comments about it!!! I’ve visited all of their Restaurants the food is always delicious. The staff is extremely friendly and one hundred percent customer satisfaction. The presentation of the restaurant represents Puerto Rican culture and extremely clean including their bathroom…Ive also noticed they have a party room for a family event, looking forward to rent their space…I am Puerto Rican from NEW YORK, my parents are native Puerto Ricans and this restaurant represents exactly what home is supposed to be. Their drinks are amazing especially their Benito drink and I loved it! I give this restaurant a 2x’s the stars

My friends and I were so excited for this new location to open, and I must say, it was worth the wait. The decor is fantastic; I love the painting by the lady’s room. Two of the five cocktails ordered were delicious, and the food was fresh, hot, and tasty. I can’t wait to return once the patio is opened to the public. Thank you for bringing a new vibe to the community. I hope salsa night will be offered as well.
The parking is my only complaint, but I understand a parking lot will come soon.
