We are a family and employee owned and operated coffee company, operating six cafes in the city of Pittsburgh.
Our newest café is on Troy Hill. Troy Hill is a classic Pittsburgh neighborhood along the Allegheny River, just minutes from downtown and our flagship store in the Strip District. We have lots of indoor seating, a rooftop deck with a garden and five more tables (weather permitting) and offer a full food menu similar to the menu we offer at the Strip. We also do many food-centric events at this location.
There is FREE street parking.
All of our coffee is responsibly sourced and roasted fresh daily at our flagship store in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District.

Wow this is a FUN Spot ✅
The atmosphere is AMAZING . This is the first time I’ve shown up and like I said I’m really impressed they have a lot of really fun stuff and I found Honey .
I ordered a cold brew and it came in a large rocks glass. It is delicious and well-represented .
I always like to choose the Window Spots . Perfect news of a little corner, in a little coffee shop found in a small town.
~ TY De Fer, I will definitely be back .

Very fun coffeeshop! I adored the decor, ambiance, and art everywhere!! Such a fun place to enjoy! The coffee was wonderful and the food was also good. I tried a banana nut muffin and it was so good – perfectly moist with a sweet soft topping! I can only speak to an easy walk there from where I was staying, parking looked limited. Clean restrooms and an upstairs/rooftop dining area.

We visited De Fer for breakfast on Valentine’s Day and had an amazing experience. My family and I tried the scones, baked oatmeal, and squash hand pie and they were all absolutely delicious.
The atmosphere of the shop was quaint and cozy, with lots of seating options to choose from. The unique artwork on the walls gave the space a lot of character.
The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, making our Valentine’s Day breakfast a highlight for our family’s day. I highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot with delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and unique artwork to enjoy. We will definitely be back!

Went here during a weekend trip. The coffee and lattes are amazing! The atmosphere in this place is really cool, you can tell a lot of time and energy went into it. Beware there is only on street parking which is very limited. The staff was very nice and welcoming. There was also a little spot with a play kitchen to keep my 5 year old occupied while they made our drinks. Highly recommend!

Absolutely Amazing!
From the moment I walked in, I knew I’d be staying a while. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere, paired with the delicious food and coffee, immediately won me over. The space is warm and inviting, filled with plenty of seating, beautiful artwork, and fun little details to enjoy. I ordered a cappuccino, served in a gorgeous mug and saucer, and an out-of-this-world breakfast sandwich — definitely try it with the spicy mayo! On top of all that, the staff here are some of the kindest people you’ll meet. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

Honestly I’m not sure how this place does such good business. We live a couple blocks away and only go when absolutely necessary – less than five times in the last 3 years. Their coffee is awful. Their lattes always come out cold and taste like straight milk, flavorless as can be. And on top of that, they are always only 3/4 full. The food isn’t appetizing. The selections are slim and they are always out of things, even early in the morning. The staff is always rude. And it’s not a comfortable atmosphere. It does not have that comfy cozy coffee shop vibe at all, so if that is what you are looking for, I would go somewhere else. It’s really such a shame. I drive out of my way to go to a different coffee shop every morning, when this one is right beside me.

Got a bunch of cookies: thumbprint, choco chip, pecan, and oatmeal. All of them were scrumptious! I got an iced matcha, my mom got a sparkling blueberry lemonade, and my dad got a flat white. 10/10 for everyone 🙂

Ordered an iced coffee and an Apple Crumble. Very tasty and great service. It has a nice vibe and there’s even rooftop seating too. I grew up in Troy Hill and its nice to see a nice business like this locally

The fall coffee and matcha were delicious! We also shared the grapefruit pastry and and chia seed pudding were so full of flavor! Can’t wait to go back and try something else!

Cute atmosphere, great little coffee shop. Lots of tables in a few different rooms, so you can find one louder/quieter to your preference. I had the potato and cheese hand pie which was great for a small breakfast. The baristas were really nice and helpful with suggestions for what to order. They also asked if it was for here or to go, which I appreciated to avoid the plastic/waste!
