Busy & easygoing outpost for Mexican comfort food such as carnitas paired with potent margaritas.

Carnitas were great and perfectly cooked and seasoned. The enchiladas were good, the salsa is spicy, and the mole was excellent. Guac is very fresh.

I was in town for a conference and met a friend here for dinner. We really enjoyed our meal! The salsa was tasty and had just the right amount of spice, the green chile was quite flavor and again had a little kick which was refreshing. The food was served very quickly and the wait staff was Uber friendly! If I lived downtown I would frequent this restaurant because the flavorful food made me happy and the portions were pretty big, but the price was not!

The fajitas were delicious. The salsa was watery and cold, but flavoral. The chips were good but better if served warm. The green chili side we got was absolute garbage and tasted like it came from a can. Very bland. The rice also tasted like it came from a frozen bag.
But the steak and the onions, everything about the fajitas was amazing. Tortillas were warm and flaky and delicious, instead of wet like some restaurants.
I’d just say that for $62 for 1 serving meal for 2 people is insane after a 20 minute wait. And being told something was on the house and still charged for it.
We came for the reviews but we weren’t as impressed as we hoped.

We had an outstanding dining experience here! We ordered the Chicken Mole, Steak Fajitas, and Carnitas Adobada — each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared.
To drink, we tried the Spicy Margarita, which delivered a bold kick while still balancing perfectly with the citrus and tequila — a refreshing yet adventurous choice.
The meal started with hot, homemade chips and a fantastic salsa, quickly followed by cocktails and the most unique chicharrones we’ve ever had — meaty, rustic, and irresistibly seasoned.

Great experience, the dining area was well packed; deservedly so. Still, our server and total experience there did not make us feel like we were waiting our turn. Cozy vibes, strong menu design. Various marg options and we enjoyed every one we tried!

Outstanding! The food, drinks, service and the vibe were all excellent! It’s not fancy, stuffy, reserved or ostentatious; actually it was packed with regular folks casually dressed, smiling, laughing and having a great time!
They brought us hot homemade chips with an excellent homemade salsa to start and were quick with cocktails. Then the chicharrones, which were different than I’d had before, really meaty, rustic; tossed with masa and seasonings (I think that’s what they did) and fried, YUM!
I had the best mole I’ve ever tasted and my wife loved her carne adobada. The beans and rice were also excellent, a good item to compare from restaurant to restaurant for the cook’s skill and attention to detail.
Only one problem, it’s downtown in the middle of never ending construction, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. This will be our go to place when downtown.

Had been going to this hole in wall for about 20 yrs. Love, no, LOVE their food, their burritos, enchiladasal, tacos, fajitas, salsa and of course their margaritas. If you like Mexican food and cozy atmosphere and you are in Denver, you should swing by. We live now far away from Colorado and always try to visit this amazing food temple whenever we are in town. Talk to Eddie, the owner, about the restauraunt history, if you catch him there talking to the guests.

This place used to be the spot, but things have changed. The chips are consistently overcooked, or, worse yet, cooked in old dirty oil. They now give you a laughably meager portion of salsa to accompany your inedible chips. The green chili lacks the depth of flavor it once had. The prices are going up as quality is steadily diminished. The Margaritas are still good, hence 2 stars.

Great vibes, affordable big portions. Food was tasty, free chips and salsa. Margarita wasn’t too good, maybe stick with a beer

The service is phenomenal, everyone is so kind. We had a party of 5. My party hadn’t shown up yet so the owner made sure to check in on me while I waited. In all, I only had to wait 10 minutes and they got us seated as soon as everyone arrived, on a packed out Friday night with an Avs game on! The staff is so efficient, the food came out quickly, and everything was absolutely delicious. Probably the best Mexican food and best overall experience we’ve had in Denver in a long time. Don’t miss this place!
