We were passing by and decided to stop in. I’ve seen them on IG but it was my first time. I was impressed from the parking lot, the aroma was inviting. Upon entering, I noticed the place was clean, soft music was playing and we were immediately greeted by staff. The daily special was salsberry steak, which was perfect because I desired a home cooked meal. The food did not disappoint! To begin, the plate were so heavy it could’ve fed 2 people. My husband wanted smothered potatoes and I chose rice. The food was soooo flavorful! This place has been moved to the top of my list for southern style cooking. Every item was seasoned to perfection, not overly seasoned. I give them a 20 out of 10, for customer service , presentation, and quality product!

Went in around 12:30, a few people were in already. Ordered the turkey wing plate with spaghetti and cheese, cabbage, and a side of sweet potatoes, with a cup of koolaid for $18 and some change. Oh my GOD, everything was divine, almost thought my grandma was back there cooking. Turkey wing was hot and crispy seasoned perfectly and the cabbage was a definite 10/10. Sweet potatoes were extra good also. Spaghetti and cheese was 8/10, just needed a little more salt. Overall, well worth the drive and price. So much so that I got back in line and ordered a whole other order to take back home. A must try.

I ordered the fish special with a side a spaghetti & cheese, yams, potato salad and a lemonade. Prior to receiving my order, the wait time was over 30 mins, however the gentleman that took my order was really nice. When I finally received my plate the portion was enough to feed two maybe three. The fish was fried way to hard for my liking, but I know some people like fish fried hard. I figured it wasn’t catfish because when most people mentioned “fish” it is usually sway or other type of fish. The spaghetti & cheese was really cheese, but I wish had a little more seasoning. The yams were my favorite parr of the plate because they were sweet and just the right texture. The potato salad was my least favorite like the spaghetti and cheese, it lacked seasoning. The lemonade was really sweet and I would definitely order again. Overall, I might come back since I know what to expect.

Food was good. Turkey wings was fried too hard and not seasoned, but edible. Spaghetti and cheese and yams were good. Staff was nice. I went after lunch hours, so service was quick, as not many people were there at that time. Lots of seating, clean,bar area wasn’t open. Would go back when I’m back in town.

I love their food and I love the portions of food they give. I can literally eat off one plate like 3 times. I always order their fish plate and it comes with two big pieces of fish. Yesterday I ordered through DoorDash and when I received my food I only had one piece of fish. That hurt me deep!!

The vibeeeee is so nice the music, food, and drinks are to die for. I ordered the pork chop sandwich and it was so good ..the only thing I didn’t like was the added mashed potatoes on the pork chop. If I would’ve known, I would’ve asked them not to put that on it. My coworkers ordered the smothered pork chops, rice, and cabbage. The music is perfect! I jammed the entire time while my coworkers and I ate our food. Did I mention that the food is inexpensive? I’m definitely returning whenever I come to BR again

My 3 stars are based on the overall experience at the new spot. I arrived around 10:30 am on a Friday and got one of the last parking spots in the restaurant’s parking lot, otherwise there is parking across the street. A line started to form around 10:50. I got in line and was about the 10th person. The restaurant didn’t open until 11:20. By this time the line had about 40 people. Once in, there were 2 registers taking orders. One to the left and one to the right. We watched the servers fix plates and stack them up, however after a period of time we discovered that these plates were for phone and online orders. After waiting for approximately 30 minutes, several customers began getting frustrated. About 45 minutes in, with no in person customer receiving their order, customers began to express their frustration. The employees also began to express frustration. The older lady taking orders immediately began to offer refunds, WOW! By this point I just had to see what the food was all about I know I know! I’m a foodie! The first in line customer received her order about 50 minutes in. She had the same number as me. #40. We were told even though we had the same number, the register we ordered from was different. So both registers were using the same numbers and putting the tickets in one pile for the servers. I think this caused a lot of confusion. Now my daughter met me for lunch on her lunch break but she had to leave because her lunch was over and we were still waiting. I decided to stick it out. After another 15-20 minutes I decided it was time to get a refund, however the next order up was mine. Now I had originally decided to eat in but all of the tables were occupied by people waiting on their food. I took a bite in the car but by this point I couldn’t enjoy. Later that evening I warmed my food up and let me tell y’all, I GET THE HYPE!! Man oh man oh man!! Food 10/10!! My plate was filled to the brim. I had the baked turkey leg, cornbread dressing( fixed in the large side) Yams, and Cabbage. Plate was about $18 and oh so worth it!! If you can fight through the process and don’t mind the customer service, GO ON A FRIDAY! Turkey wings and cornbread dressing!! I personally plan to go back, but no time soon . I think they need to come up with another process. Maybe only in person orders during peak hours. Also order in a Piccadilly format while food is being plated and pay at the end.

I typically go on a Monday for red beans and rice day. They have the best Red beans in town. They can work on their cornbread LOL but I won’t make this that the focus of this review. Staff is friendly.it’s always clean.it smells good. prices are affordable and that drink baby.. that lemonade or fruit punch get you some.best mac and cheese ever

This place is always clean and the staff is very professional. Most eateries in North Baton Rouge aren’t clean and the customer service is deplorable. The food is always hot and fresh and you never have to wait a long time even if the line is long. I will forever be a customer.

I had broccoli cheese and rice baked chicken and cabbage. The broccoli and rice was spicy. Chicken was dry. I guy taking the other was not customer friendly.
