5.31.25 – while visiting the area I googled “fried fish”; fortunately we found this hidden gem. I was craving fried bone-in fish and ordered 2 croaker sandwiches and 1 flounder sandwich. Everything was tasteful, made to order, and fried to perfection! Other notables for you: black-owned, inside a historical building, offers sit in, there is a buffet, and a liquor bar.

Tried this spot because of the reviews and I’ll try almost anything once. Well first there was no BBQ any where in the place, second the food that was in the buffet tables was old and mushy the greens beans had sugar in them it tasted that way, the greens were from a can, the gravy from a jar, the sausage and peppers was COLD, the BBQ meatballs looked old they only 2 things that was half way good was the turkey wings and fried chicken. I must admit first place I’ve been to that had turkey wings but again they were seasoned very well. The mac and cheese was straight nasty it was missing cheese in my opinion. The server bought 4 pieces of fried whiting to the table they were fresh out the grease but not seasoned, she also deliver fried pork chop they were just fried pork chop nothing to really brag about. The place was empty except for one family which should have spoken volumes especially on a Friday. Definitely not worth coming back to it’s not the SOUL FOOD I’m use to. Not to mention the cooler on the floor is where the ice is kept

The food was delicious! Fresh fish cooked to order! The homeade selections on the bar were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right! Me & my party felt our $$ were very well spent! So glad we found this little place! The young lady that served us was extremely nice and accommodated us excellently.

The wings are DELICIOUS!! Got them 3 days in a row lol. The bartender Greg who runs the inside bar, Uptown Social is a great guy. Great drink prices. Come see him! Awesome personality. I highly recommend coming here.
