To put it frankly, you have to know someone and get special treatment or just prefer food unseasoned to enjoy this restaurant. The chicken fried steak was the best thing on the buffet, the rest was subpar. When we saw they closed at two, we figured it must be very good eating so we rushed the next day to make it on time. The lot was decently full, well looks are deceiving. I asked for warm water and lemon and was given the mug shown in the picture. I didn’t drink it so I’m not sure what was in it, but it was very indictive of the rest that was to come. Nothing against the atmosphere and function of the establishment but if you’re looking for delicious comfort food unfortunately this isn’t the place it looks like it would be.

I just want to say, if you are passing through Childress this is a great place to stop, eat and take a breath. Wife and I both had the chicken fried steak and it was spot on. But what impressed me the most was the fried okra, actually the best I have had since I don’t know when. Crisp, not burnt and breaded just right. My next visit, will be 2 orders of okra for me. And let me say that the service was great also.

Very friendly staff and good food. We had the buffet. There were plenty of choices. A salad bar, chicken fried steak, smoked sausage with bbq, catfish, chili, sweet cornbread muffins, fried okra, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious but the chili was a hidden gem. Would have taken a gallon to go if we hadn’t been traveling. Will definitely keep it on our trip plans.

Great restaurant! Stopped in for breakfast on our way to Dallas. This is a family restaurant and the service was great. The food was plentiful, and the price was fair. This is not fancy food, this is the breakfast your granny makes you when you come to visit.

Great little buffet. Limited choices but all were good. Fried chicken, fried catfish, and a meat w/ peppers and onions. Mashed potatoes with two gravies and two vegetables. Good fresh salad with lots of toppings.

Completely fell in love with this place completely. Please try the grilled catfish and the veggies. The waitstaff is amazing and so sweet wow you and the double cheeseburger with bacon amazing. I love going first thing in the morning and getting five scrambled eggs with extra American cheese and soft bacon. The fried okra as well

My wife enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. When you walk in you seat yourself. Within just a few minutes our waitress came to our table. We were still looking at the menu but the very kind waitress took our drink order. We both got coffee. It came to the table very hot and was very good.
I ordered “The Big One” with French toast and I chose sausage and order my eggs over medium. Everything seemed very fresh, was hot and had great flavor. The only slightly disappointing part was that it was served with whipped margarine instead of real butter.
My wife ordered “The Original” with her eggs over easy and she chose bacon. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The bacon was thick and perfectly crispy without being overcooked. The hash browns were delicious.
Service was fast and friendly. Food came out quickly, was hot and tasted great. Refills of coffee and water were offered at just the right times.
We are looking forward to returning soon.

I was lucky to stop in on a Friday night to find a really Good Buffet for $14.95 with a drink!!! The food was fresh and Hot!! I had the catfish and chicken fried Steak with veggies and it was so Good!!! The service there is super friendly and attentive !! I highly recommend this home cooking restaurant !!!

Man this was a great place for breakfast. Endless coffee, a small menu but everything you wanted. I had 2 eggs, hash browns, toast, 3 bacon for 9.99. That was the most expensive thing on the menu. Service was great and everyone was friendly.

First off, at breakfast, they were out of potatoes, so you had to make a substitute. Then we heard them say we are out of biscuits. It’s 9:57am how are you out of food? They have a lunch buffet that used to be decent, so worth trying them again at lunch, but breakfast is a hit or miss, and today, a miss. The location is cute, decor nice and clean. Also, only one cook so they were very slow getting out the food. Waitresses were working hard to please everyone but couldn’t hurry the food. But food was paid for by someone. So I gave 3 stars.
